⚔️ FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, Part 7: The Foolishness of Power

From Constantine's imperial victory to the downfall of the Knights Templar, history reveals how easily the cross of Christ can become entangled with human ambition.

Paul proclaimed a crucified Lord whose power challenged everything Rome understood about authority. Yet Christians have repeatedly sought the very forms of power that crucified Jesus.

✝️ The question isn't whether we possess power. It's whom our power serves. 💧🙏

🍽️ FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, Part 6: Faith Without Permission

We proclaim that everyone is welcome. But what happens when welcome becomes uncomfortable?

Christ has already extended the invitation. Who gave us permission to take it back? 💧🙏

Peter welcomed Gentile believers until fear of others’ judgment drove him away from their table. Churches still face the same contradiction: proclaiming unconditional welcome while placing co…

⚖️ FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, Part 5: The Merit of Grace

Charlie Bucket deserves the chocolate factory. But that's not grace.

Society measures worth through achievement and success. So does the church, with its statistics and measures of vitality.

Paul reminds us that grace isn't earned. It's given.

Grace breaks the scale. 💧🙏

⚖️ FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, Part 4: The Final Word

When Ozzy Osbourne died, some Christians seemed remarkably certain they knew where he was going.
But Paul’s confession—Jesus is Lord—should make us considerably less certain about our own authority.

The final word over another person’s soul does not belong to the church, the loudest believer, the most offended crowd, or our own religious certainty.
It belongs to Christ.m🙏⚖️💧

Christian condemnation of Ozzy Osbourne stirred righteous anger in me—and speaking out brought backlash. Romans 10 reminds us why that challenge matters: Jesus is Lord, and the final word over anot…

👑 FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, Part 3: The Emptied Lord

Jesus is Lord, but his power takes the shape of humble, self-giving love. Christ emptied himself—and challenges what we call strength.💧👑🙏

https://lifegivingwaterdevo.org/2026/09/30/faith-hope-love-part-3-the-emptied-lord/

Jesus is Lord, but his lordship does not look like grasping, domination, or partisan power. Philippians shows us the emptied Lord, whose authority is revealed through humility, service, and self-gi…
