Temple Har Zion

Temple Har Zion Temple Har Zion was established in the historic town of Mt. Holly, NJ over 80 years ago. Join us for Shabbat services at 8 p.m. Fridays & 10 a.m. Saturdays.

We are an egalitarian, Jewish Renewal-oriented congregation in the Conservative tradition. We are the Delaware Valley's Jewish oasis of spiritual searching and innovation that promotes learning and healing. We inspire individuals, couples, and families to celebrate our ancient and sacred spiritual connections in a supportive environment to create an active presence of God in our daily lives. Our co

ngregation is diverse and welcoming to families and individuals. We are small, and intend to preserve our sense of family and connection with each other even as we grow. We are committed to nurturing and maintaining a community of active and involved members that attend services, programs/events, and joyfully serve the congregation and community. Our greatest resource is our members and their commitment to community, to Judaism, to Temple Har Zion. Temple Har Zion welcomes visitors and newcomers. We believe we have something quite special to share that is not easily found elsewhere. We invite you to stop in for Shabbat services or any of our programs and events, and to stay to chat awhile.

Today Rabbi Nathan Weiner welcomed all to the Rancocas Valley Yom Hashoah Holocaust Commemoration, a most meaningful community gathering. Joel Fabian, a child Holocaust survivor and member of THZ, spearheaded the annual event. Guest speaker Judy Wizmer shared her mother's story of survival. THZ member Alan Kramer sang a beautiful rendition of "My Yiddishe Momme."

And THZ's Ruth Cook (yes, that's her last name!) prepared dishes from In Memory's Kitchen, a cookbook with recipes from people sent to the Terezin concentration camp.

A moving program today at THZ by Gabriel Meyer Halevy, “A Sanctuary for Apocalyptic Times.” Singing in Spanish, Hebrew, Arabic and Tibetan, filled the room - and our souls - with songs, storytelling, and spirit.
