At Our Story Church, we are "Discovering God's Story, to Receive My Story, to Witness Our Story." These next few weeks, we are diving into these one at a time. This week, let's take a look at what it means to "Discover God's Story."

We've rooted this in Psalm 107:1-3... "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south."

When we sit with this, we realize it tells us that God is GOOD, that his LOVE is FOREVER, and that he is here to gather and redeem us. And that means you, God is gathering you, the one that he loves, to show his healing and goodness to you. This is REDEMPTION FOR RESTORATION.

We continue to learn this story of God by,

ASKING: “Who is GOD?”
and then, SEEKING: To discover God’s love to understand redemption.

This is a transformational journey we are on, and we invite you to take part.

We celebrate Christmas. We celebrate Easter. But Pentecost? This is the one that changes how you live on a Tuesday.

The Spirit of God didn't come to hover nearby or cheer you on from a distance. He came to take up residence within ordinary people - young and old; sons and daughters; slave and free. (Joel 2:28-29) People who had gotten it wrong over and over again.

For each one. Even us.

We’re not very good at rest. We carry pressure to keep producing, keep striving, keep proving ourselves. Even slowing down can make us feel guilty.

But Jesus offers something different. Not “earn your rest.” Not “figure it all out first.”
Just: Come. Rest.

Rest is more than stopping. It’s trust. Trust that the world keeps turning even when we slow down. Trust that our worth is not measured by productivity. Trust that God can hold what we cannot.

Maybe this summer, the invitation is simple:

Put the phone down.
Sit on the porch.
Take the nap.
Breathe deeper.
Let your soul catch up with your body.

Because rest isn’t wasted time. Sometimes it’s the holiest thing we can do.

What an awesome summer kick-off picnic we had! We spent time fellowshipping (and playing!) with a look at the business of the church to discover what has been established and a look ahead across 2026 as we keep building. A big thanks to the Fredericks for grilling and to the church family for bringing all the drinks and sides to share! God keeps providing in ways we didn't expect, and it is really cool to watch.

This Memorial Day we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and lift up in prayer their families and those who served alongside them.

Pentecost is the reminder that God does not leave His people alone. The disciples were waiting. Praying. Uncertain what came next.

And then...wind...fire...breath. The Holy Spirit filling ordinary people with courage, power, and new life. Fear gave way to boldness. Division gave way to understanding. And the church was born.

The same Spirit that moved at Pentecost is still moving today. Still filling. Still comforting. Still empowering ordinary people to live the story of God in the world.

So this weekend, we pray again: Come, Holy Spirit. Fill us again.

Another great meeting for the youth group! What does it look like to be in an in-between stage of life, that almost-but-not-yet tension, and trusting God with that as we lean in and grow? That's what we tackled in discussion and then came together for games that taught us what trust looks like.

We are blessed to be finishing up this first season of youth group at Our Story Church! How incredible. Come out for the end-of-year pool party: https://www.ourstorychurch.org/event/youth-end-of-year-pool-party
