Happy Mother’s Day from the mothers and mothering figures of Bethany! Featuring one of our youth standing in for their mom while she’s out of town, and Pastor Cristal holding roses for those joining us on Zoom.

Our Mother’s Day reading: For all the Mothers by Linda Susan Ulrich

For all the mothers and mother figures
The grandmothers, aunts,
and extended family members who mother
The soon-to-be mothers, the wish-they-were mothers,
the never-wanted-to-be mothers,
the “it’s complicated” mothers
The birth mothers, foster mothers,
adoptive mothers, stepmothers
The “used to be Dad” mothers
and “more than one Mom” mothers
The single mothers, separated mothers,
stay-at-home mothers, unhoused mothers
The grieving mothers, those who grieve their mothers,
and those whose grief is complex
For all the communities that mother
And for all who depend on the Great Mother
You are held — and beloved.

Today, during our Time for the Young at Heart, members of Bethany came forward to name the places in their lives where they are longing for growth and transformation. This is done as part of our Easter series, titled 'A New Creation', where we are leaning into that promise of resurrection together—trusting that God is still at work, still bringing life where we thought there was none.
So we wonder: Where is resurrection trying to take root in your life? What is ready to grow? Join us in-person or on Zoom every Sunday at 10:30AM!

Bethany had an amazing Easter Egg Hunt yesterday! We welcomed so many littles who won prizes for their egg hunt. Thank you to Immanuel UCC for working with us to plan such a fun morning for kiddos!
