Complete obedience often looks simple… but it can be hard work.

Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” These were large stone jars, holding 20–30 gallons each, and they filled them “to the brim.” Trip after trip. Bucket after bucket. No hose. They obeyed fully before they ever saw the miracle.

Sometimes God asks us to simply obey — even before we understand what He’s about to do.

The miracle came after the obedience.

“Suddenly” can change everything.
But what comes after that word can vary greatly when God is added to the equation.

“Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat.” — Matthew 8:24

Uh oh… time to panic, right?

Let’s see what happens just two verses later:

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.” — Matthew 8:26

One moment: fear, chaos, uncertainty.
The next moment: peace.

That’s what Jesus can do.

Sometimes life changes suddenly for the worse. Car issues, financial challenges, health challenges.

But God can also bring peace, healing, direction, or rescue just as suddenly.

Don’t let the storm let you forget who is in the boat.

In the 1920s, a group of Salvation Army soldiers were sent into the ghettos of Los Angeles in order to bring the hope of the Gospel to hurting people. After three years of laboring with little to no results, this discouraged team sent a telegram to their Salvation Army founder, General William Booth,

“It just won’t work. We have tried everything. The Gospel is just not being received here.”

A couple days later they received the following two word telegram from General Booth,

“Try Tears.”

It’s good to cry. May we not be ashamed to ask for more tears in our lives.

Thursday, May 7th is the annual National Day of Prayer. It was established and signed into law by President Truman in 1952. It simply encourages people to turn to God in prayer and meditation. Disciples of course, know that prayer is our daily lifeline to God. Without our relationship with him we could not live the sacrifical life that Jesus expects of us.

Here are some great scriptures on prayer. Share yours below in the comments! ⬇️

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“pray continually,”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

🙌 God is DOPE… and so is His creation! 🎣

Nothing beats a night like this — fresh air, a big smile, and a reminder that even the smallest gifts from God can light up your whole evening.

This beautiful creation (and that awesome fish she just caught 😎) is a perfect example of why we say: “God is DOPE.”

He made the lakes, the fish, the stars above, and the joy we feel when we slow down and enjoy what He’s given us.

Whether you’re fishing, hiking, working, or just chilling — take a moment today to thank the One who made it all possible.

What’s something simple that reminded you of God’s goodness lately? Drop it in the comments! 👇
