The day after our Lord died on the cross, we find in John 20:19 the disciples hiding behind locked doors. They had allowed the darkness of their circumstances to blind them from the light of hope, and now they were afraid and living without hope. They couldn't see that in just a few hours not only would their lives be completely different from then on, but that the whole world would forever change.

On Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate a hope that cannot be taken away by the world, by our circumstances, or by our pain. We celebrate a hope that is the light of the world, and the darkness can never and will never prevail over the hope we have in our Lord Jesus.

Though we may sometimes find ourselves in places of hopeless despair, let us be renewed this Resurrection weekend and remember, just as the disciples did, that our Lord is with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us, and if He is on our side, who can stand against us?

---

If you don't have a church or are looking for a place to worship on Resurrection Sunday, please come join us at 7 AM -- our Brotherhood is providing breakfast, and we will also partake of the Lord's Supper.

Due to concerns of the temperatures dropping and the water on the roads there will be no evening services tonight. Please stay warm and safe! If you have a need, please don't hesitate to contact the pastor or deacons!

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling." --Psalm 46:1-3

Even in this storm, God has not moved. He is with us, He is near, and He is our refuge. Let us rest in Him.

Our Lord Jesus calls His people the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5). But how can we, weak and tempted as we are, reflect such holiness?

This Sunday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m., join us as we open Romans 6:12–14 to know the redeeming power of the gospel. Sin no longer reigns. Grace now commands. In Christ, we are not left to walk in the flesh, but are empowered by the Spirit to live in righteousness.

Come and hear how God's grace not only forgives—but transforms. Your life can be a testimony to His glory.

In his sermon Walking with God, George Whitefield warned that neglecting private prayer often opens the door to spiritual trouble. He quotes Origen, who once confessed that the day he worshiped an idol he had first skipped his time alone in prayer. This shocking confession of Origen should serve as a wake-up call to the believer: when we stop seeking God in secret, the desires of the flesh are quick to take over.

Prayer isn’t where we find our strength—it’s where we admit we have none and lean wholly on God. It’s not a magic fix or a burst of energy. It’s our lifeline to the Father, through Christ, by the Spirit. In prayer, we adore and praise our Creator and Savior, we pour out our fears, confess our sin, give thanks, and plead for help. Through it, God comforts us, strengthens us, and reminds us of His promises.

What a relief it is to know that we don’t walk in our strength, but in Christ’s—and His strength never fails.

"But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6 (ESV)

💬 How do you guard your quiet time with God? What habits have strengthened your private communion with Him?

Are you living in shame and guilt?

Guilt and shame are sometimes good for the soul. They can wake us up and lead us to turn to God. But shame and guilt were never meant to last.

Christ died and rose again, not so we would live under condemnation, but that we might walk in newness of life. So that we can live in the victory and freedom He bought for us at Calvary.

Join us this morning at Macedonia Baptist Church to learn what it means to be united to Christ and set free from the power of sin as we study Romans 6:5–11.
🕙 Sunday School: 10 AM
🕚 Worship: 11 AM

Repentance brings freedom. Let us learn together how we may cast aside our shame and guilt and walk in victory.
