Day 3 of Summer Camp was an absolute blast! šŸŽ¾

The kids had so much fun learning the game of tennis. While it challenged them in new ways, they embraced every moment with determination and joy. Best of all—there were no tears, only smiles, encouragement, and countless examples of perseverance.

It was beautiful to watch them cheer for themselves and one another as they learned that they are capable of more than they thought. Throughout the day, they were reminded that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. āœļøšŸ’™

As the word says, ā€œYou will know a tree by the fruit it bears.ā€ Today, the fruits on display were kindness, resilience, encouragement, and most of all, love. We couldn’t be prouder of this amazing group of children!

We are so proud of our very own Justin Blue who was a feautured speaker last night at the Gray Road Church of Christ for their annual Joshua Ministerial Conference and Conclave. Listen to this powerful word from the Lord beginning around 32 minutes in. Keep up the good work

How did Day 2 of Summer Camp go? Well, I’m glad you asked!

The storm canceled our park plans, so the teachers thought it would be a great idea to do some team-building activities. It went something like this…

1. Tears - lots of tears because the family dog was given away a long time ago. (Okay, not really. It was just a little challenging and intimidating.)
2. Attitude - big attitude because the activity was ā€œstupid.ā€
3. Smiles - huge smiles when they realized they could do hard things.
4. Encouragement - lots of encouragement from friends when they felt discouraged.

Then the teachers thought it would be a great idea to play kickball. You know, the kickball we all grew up playing. (Apparently not these kids!) To them, kickball literally meant kicking the ball around. So this is how that went, even after instructions…

1. Teacher rolls the ball. Student jumps over it and watches it roll by.
2. Complaints that the game is stupid. (You know, because they don’t know how to play it.)
3. More attitude - because why do we have to cheer for our teammates?!
4. More tears - because we have to take turns with the ball?!
5. Confusion - because who even plays kickball like this anymore?

But then it started looking more like this…

1. Smiles - big smiles as they figured out how to play.
2. Cheering - once they understood the game, they began cheering on their teammates.
3. Laughs - because they made plenty of mistakes and learned to laugh them off and try again. (Like running the bases while also trying to catch the ball for the other team!)
4. Perseverance - they didn’t give up.
5. Fun - so much fun!

Needless to say, we made it through another day. Not a single picture in sight because we were busy surviving, putting out fires, and then eventually thriving!

We’re ready for our tennis lesson tomorrow. šŸ˜…

We had a great first day of summer camp! We are learning about the Fruits of the Spirit and how there is no law against them. We also enjoyed a visit to the library, read lots of books, and had the opportunity to meet new friends.

We are excited about our trip to the water park tomorrow!
