Calvary Community Church is a friendly family of believers in Jesus Christ. We gather each week to celebrate God and remind one another of his amazing grace and love poured out through Jesus into our hearts by his Spirit. Sunday is an opportunity for us to communicate the unchanging gospel of Jesus in a fresh way. We respond together in song, giving, the giving of offerings, and the sacraments (baptism and the Lord’s Supper), We do the same things Christians have done for centuries. Through the teaching, music, storytelling, and celebrating, we aim to keep the focus on Jesus. We strive for life-changing gatherings. Our music and preaching is never for the sake of a show, but for pointing everyone to the greatness and love of God. We want to clearly and consistently communicate the good news of Jesus to all who gather with us..

The International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians, observed each year on the first Sunday in November, is an opportunity for the global body of Christ to unite in prayer for our persecuted Christian family members. With heavy hearts, we recently lost wonderful handyman and longtime church member Ed Westrick. Ed approached every task—large or small—with the same sense of purpose, lending a hand to others or tending the lawn at Calvary with near legendary precision. Ed was known for his quiet dedication, steady work ethic, and the deep, uncomplicated kindness he extended to everyone around him.

Please join us for his memorial service Thursday, October 29th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Calvary Community Church. (Small reception to follow.) There will be a viewing at Steele Chapel October 27th and 28th from 10 am to 4 pm.

Calvary Community Church is blessed to welcome Scott Brewer as our new interim pastor, as we continue to search for a permanent senior pastor.

Scott has served in Christian ministry for nearly 50 years as a church planter, pastor, church planting assessor and mentor, and spiritual director. Currently he is serving as the Director of Soul Care for the Northwest Baptist Convention. He is married to Sherrie, and they have two married sons and 7 grandchildren. Scott enjoys playing pickleball and riding his motorcycle on winding country roads.

Scott's primary role will be to fill the pulpit and serve as a resource person to the Church Council, staff, and congregation. Please be praying for Scott as he steps into this role and assists Calvary with its transition!
