Lord Jesus, we bring before You the anger that can rise in grief. The questions, frustration, pain, and confusion that feel too heavy to carry. Keep our anger from becoming bitterness, cruelty, or despair. Help us speak honestly, listen carefully, and walk gently with one another. Be our refuge when emotions feel overwhelming, and lead us toward healing, justice, peace, and hope in You.

Faithful God, in our sorrow we come to You with honest hearts. We do not understand this loss, and we feel the weight of grief deeply. Meet those who mourn with Your steadfast love. When the days feel heavy, remind them that You have not forgotten them. When their hearts ache, hold them close. When hope feels distant, gently lead them back to Your presence. Lord, be faithful in the silence, near in the sorrow, and strong when we are weak.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭4‬

Longview's drinking water remains safe, and there continues to be no threat to the public water supply.

Public Works crews and the Diking District worked throughout the night and continue pumping and flushing water through the drainage system. pH levels in the ditch along Industrial Way near the City's well field have returned to normal and stabilized.

While significant progress has been made, there are still areas within the drainage network with elevated pH levels. Until monitoring confirms conditions have stabilized throughout the system, residents are asked to stay out of affected sloughs, dikes, and drainage ditches and keep pets away from these areas.

As a precaution, anyone who has come into contact with water in affected areas should rinse off thoroughly with clean water. Pet owners should also rinse their animals if they have been exposed. Anyone experiencing unusual symptoms should seek appropriate medical attention.

Residents may continue to notice a rotten egg odor in some areas. This odor is caused by hydrogen sulfide gas that is released as the product becomes diluted during the flushing process. While the smell may be unpleasant, hydrogen sulfide can be detected by the human nose at extremely low concentrations. Environmental monitoring continues to show no abnormal air quality conditions, and the odor is an indication that dilution efforts are working.

Warning signs have been installed throughout affected areas.

Thank you for your patience, support, and cooperation as response efforts continue.

Over the past several days, we have witnessed the resilience, compassion, and generosity that define our community. Longview Strong.

Surround each family with love, support, and practical help. Strengthen coworkers, friends, first responders, and leaders as they care for one another. Please pray with us today for our First Responders…
Merciful God, be near to all who labor through tragedy this day—first responders, caregivers, leaders, coworkers, and grieving families. Strengthen weary hands, steady anxious hearts, and grant wisdom in every decision.

Give compassion to those offering comfort, courage to those carrying heavy burdens, and rest to all who are overwhelmed by sorrow and strain. In moments of confusion and grief, let your presence bring peace, hope, and endurance.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord, our light in the darkness and our comfort in sorrow, draw near this evening to families carrying grief, fear, and weariness.
Give rest to troubled hearts, peace to anxious minds, and strength for the days ahead.
Surround homes marked by tragedy with your mercy and love. Hold close those who weep, sustain those who feel overwhelmed,
and remind all who suffer that they are not alone.
Grant quiet sleep, courage for tomorrow,
and the hope of your unfailing presence;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
