Something feels… disturbing today.

Even as the shadows loom, we’re reminded that the Light is never overcome. Wherever you are, take a moment to pause, breathe, and rest in a new hope.

And when Sunday comes, we’ll gather again, grounded in trust, community, and the steady presence that holds us all.

May the Fourth be with you. ✨

Join us this Sunday for the second message in our Rest sermon series: Trust.

We’re honored to welcome the gifted and thoughtful Rev. Taryn Eudaly as our guest preacher, who will guide us in exploring what it means to rest not just in body, but in trust... trust in God, in the unfolding of life, and in the sacred rhythms that sustain us.

If you’ve been feeling stretched thin or searching for steadiness, this is a space to pause, breathe, and be renewed. Worship starts at 11, all are welcome.

Sunday School is getting cozy this week!

We’re having a movie day, so kids are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a blanket, pillow, and their favorite plushie. Popcorn will be ready, of course 🍿

It’s going to be a relaxed and fun morning together!

Give it a listen!

What does it mean to be a Disciple? This is the question that a group of Young Adult Disciples wrestled with for several weeks recently as a part of the Young Adult Book Club hosted through the office of the General Minister and President. Our conversation partner was Terri Hord-Owen’s book Staying at the Table: Being the Church We Say We Are. The book asks hard questions about who we are called to be as Disciples of Christ and challenges us to embody who we claim to be. The Young adults who gathered to craft this group found themselves discussing the church's present needs while also envisioning its future. What came through in their insights was that they see the church as a potent vessel for good in the world.

In an effort to lift up their voice, below is a Spotify playlist created by the group in an effort to use music to communicate the “Disciples Vibes” that unite us all in faithful community. May it inspire us to lift all voices and sing of the better future these young adults envision. May it encourage us to ask ourselves, what does it mean to be a disciple?

Walking the Emmaus Road...

I am thinking about the Emmaus story that meets us on the third Sunday in this season of resurrection. I am so grateful for how Christ meets us in the breaking of bread, and how, even (and sometimes especially) in our deepest losses, a table can become a holy place that invites us to recognize him in each other. So today, in whatever hope or hurt or hunger we carry, this blessing is for you.

TABLE BLESSING

To your table
you bid us come.
You have set the places;
you have poured the wine;
and there is always room,
you say,
for one more.

And so we come.
From the streets
and from the alleys
we come.

From the deserts
and from the hills
we come.

From the ravages of poverty
and from the palaces of privilege
we come.

Running,
limping,
carried,
we come.

We are bloodied with our wars;
we are wearied with our wounds;
we carry our dead within us,
and we reckon with their ghosts.

We hold the seeds of healing;
we dream of a new creation;
we know the things
that make for peace,
and we struggle
to give them wings.

And yet, to your table
we come.
Hungering for your bread,
we come;
thirsting for your wine,
we come;
singing your song
in every language,
speaking your name
in every tongue,
in conflict and in communion,
in discord and in desire,
we come,
O God of Wisdom,
we come.
