What a BOO-tiful day at the Trick or Treat Lake Walk!
The crowds were plentiful, the costumes were fantastic, and we were SO busy that we didn't even have time to take pictures! We did manage to grab this quick video as we hustled to set up, complete with our old-fashioned Burma-Shave-style signs!
This year, Longview First Christian Church came prepared with plenty of goodies: candy, small toys, and boxes and boxes of... raw potatoes. 🥔 (Yes, potatoes. It's kind of our thing!)
And what went first? The toys! Tattoos and squishies were a HUGE hit!
Next to disappear? The potatoes! We handed out a whopping 200 POUNDS of potatoes and STILL ran out! Why are potatoes so popular with trick-or-treaters? We have no idea, but we're not questioning it. 😂 Next year, we're bringing 300 pounds!
And finally, we gave away nearly 70 POUNDS of candy! 🍬 We kept our booth open until the very last trick-or-treater had passed through, nearly half an hour after the event officially ended.
A HUGE thank-you to everyone who helped make this year such a success, especially the Cloke family, who helped staff our booth and kept the goodies flowing. You guys are AWESOME! ❤️
We love being part of this community, sharing a little joy, a lot of laughter, and apparently an astonishing number of potatoes.
