One year ago today, the Archdiocese of Newark celebrated the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Bismarck Chau, who was named Auxiliary Bishop by Pope Leo XIV in 2025.

As we mark his first year of episcopal ministry, we give thanks for Bishop Chau’s pastoral leadership and his faithful service to the diverse communities of the Archdiocese of Newark.

Please join us in prayer for Bishop Chau as he continues his ministry as Auxiliary Bishop and Regional Bishop of Hudson County.

Step by step, this important gathering space is being transformed into a brighter, more welcoming, and more functional home for parish events, ministries, celebrations, and fellowship.

📖 Bible Study Returns September 14th!

In less than two weeks, Sister Joan’s Bible Study returns to St. Raphael with Word on Fire: Catholicism, presented by Bishop Robert Barron.

This series offers a beautiful look at the Catholic faith—exploring what we believe, why we believe it, and the rich history and traditions that have shaped the Church.

Each session will include video presentations along with time for conversation, questions, and reflection.

🌙 Evening Session: 7:00–8:15 p.m.

What does it mean to truly live our Catholic faith?

This fall, our Adult Religious Formation Book Club will explore that question together through Matthew Kelly’s “Rediscover Catholicism.”

More than simply reading a book, this is an opportunity to reflect, share your thoughts, hear different perspectives, and take a fresh look at how our Catholic faith can shape our everyday lives.
