First Baptist Church on Littleton Common

10/19/2026

The journey of First Baptist continues. While the congregation held its final worship experience in June, today the sale of the building is complete. Redeemer Presbyterian Church has now become the stewards of our former church home. We pray that their ministry on the Common will be richly blessed and that the Littleton community will welcome them into their midst.

First Baptist Church has had a 204 year history in the community. We thank all of those who have supported our varied missions and ministries through that time. Proceeds from the sale of the church will be shared among four missions both local and international. Through those gifts the legacy of First Baptist Church Littleton will continue. More on that in the future. Today our hearts are full of thanksgiving.

Our transition as a congregation continues. Today the Good Shepherd window was removed from the sanctuary. Grotonwood will be the stewards of its future use.

Our thanks to Eric Mauro and his team for its safe removal. Our thanks to Chris Trout and his Grotonwood staff for its safe transport.

Many thanks to Barbara Staples and Anne Lee Ellis for these great pictures.

This is Debbie back on the FBC page.

Did you know that the FBC Church bell that used to be at the top of the steeple, and is now at Grotonwood, is used by campers/conference attendees to ring on their birthday? Our bell is still spreading good news and ringing out across the camp! 🔔💛

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12: 1-2
