Lighthouse Fellowship

Lighthouse Fellowship BRINGING GOD'S WORD TO LIGHT, ONE VERSE AT A TIME.

Lighthouse Fellowship is a non-denominational church that teaches God's Word, verse by verse, from Genesis to Revelation, and how the Bible's teachings apply to our lives. If you're looking for a church where the word of God is taught and the Lord is worshiped, bring your bible and join us as we celebrate Jesus with contemporary praise and worship in a casual atmosphere.

Good morning friends. This is a very popular verse and also very powerful. It has been one of my go to verses for a long time. The key is, we have to remember to go to it. Life can be tough with hard times abounding no matter how hard we’re trying to live for God. There are so many things that happen that we have no answer to. We try and try to figure out ‘WHY’!! Friends this is where faith and trust come in. We don’t have to know the why, we just put our full faith and trust in God knowing that He has a plan for our lives and His plan is best. Many times we would be better off in the hard times if we would start asking, “God what do You want me to learn from this situation?” Rather than “Why God?” The hard times are when we seek God the most diligently. That’s when our faith and trust grow and we realize the faithfulness of God. As the Word says, we should be thankful at all times. Later down the road we might learn the why of the situation, but we might not learn it until we meet Jesus face to face. For the time being, the why is not important. Full faith and trust that the situation is ultimately for our good is! Glory to God and be blessed friends.

Good morning friends. How much are we like Peter. He didn’t want them to arrest Jesus so he pulled his sword and went into action without giving it any thought. How often do we react out of instant emotion rather than pause, think, then respond? Now on the flip side notice what Jesus said. “Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?” It’s human nature to want life to go smoothly with no hiccups, no pain or problems. But why would we think we are entitled to a life like that. I don’t know about you, but I fall short of God’s glory every day. Try as I might I still sin. Jesus lived on this earth as human as you and I and did not sin even one time. But oh what a cup our Father had in store for Him to drink. Jesus didn’t flinch, didn’t argue, and didn’t even complain that life is not fair. He accepted His cup and eventually drank the beating and torture of the cross. Why? Because He loves you and me so much. So the point this morning is don’t expect life to always be rosy and problem free. Junk will come, but because Jesus drank His cup He set us free and gave us strength and power to drink our cup! Even though life is not fair, be thankful that you’re here with purpose and God is still giving you a cup to drink. Glory to God and be blessed friends.

Good morning friends. Do we actually realize that God is for us, His children, all the time? We sure do when things are going good and problems are minimal. But what about those times in life when it gets hard? When nothing seems to be going right, the wheels are falling off the wagon and we’re headed to the ditch. When folks are going through these times, I’ve heard them say, “I don’t pray anymore, God doesn’t listen to me anyway”. Let me remind you this morning that God always listens. Just because our selfish desires are not met doesn’t mean God has turned a deaf ear to us. We are such a spoiled generation, a microwave generation, where we want what we want and we want it right now! There comes a time that we have to submit to the Lordship of God. Our faith and trust have to grow to a point where we know that God has a plan for our lives that is better than what we’re planning. I bet there are times each of us can look back on now and see that if we had gotten what we thought we wanted at that time it would have become a train wreck. We should learn and grow from these past experiences. Our faith and trust in God should be growing daily. Our personal motto should be “If God is for me, who can be against me. I know He is working ALL THINGS for my good”! Glory to God and be blessed friends.
