Community Christian Church will once again serve as one of approximately 5000 drop-off locations across the U.S. collecting gift-filled shoeboxes for children living in poverty. Over the past 33 years Samaritan’s Purse has collected and delivered more than 244 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories.
Now is the time for you, your church group, business, community or civic organization to request information about how to get involved and to participate in Operation Christmas Child. You can get shoeboxes and lists of what to pack in them from the staff at Community Christian Church in Linn. Call Community Christian Church at 573-897-3011 or visit samaritanspurse.org/occ.
“Packing shoeboxes is a meaningful activity you can do together as a family that changes children’s lives around the world,” says Diane Hopke, volunteer for Operation Christmas Child.
During National Collection Week, Nov. 16-23, Linn and Osage County residents can drop off shoeboxes at Community Christian Church—filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and fun toys, such as a stuffed animal or soccer. This year Linn residents and Osage County hope to contribute around 425 shoebox gifts toward the 2026 global goal of reaching over 12 million children.
