Second Baptist Church Second Baptist Church is a member of the American Baptist Churches USA and ABC of Nebraska. Are we perfect? NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Second Baptist Church is located in east Lincoln and is celebrating over 120 years of service to the community. We are seeking God's will and plan in becoming a missional congregation where our primary focus is bringing Jesus to the community around us. However, we are governed by grace, not our own perfection.

Second Baptist had seven ladies attend the Nebraska ABWM Women's Summer Conference, June 5 and 6, 2026 at Camp Moses Merrill. Attendees were: Linda Samples, Bev Ludden, Jan Erickson, Carol Nelson, Ronneen Holden, Shirley Horstman, and BJ Dappen. The theme for the conference was Welcoming the Stranger - Living Like Lydia. We had 25 ladies in attendance from the surrounding areas. Great program, learned a lot, fun activities, delicious meals, and wonderful fellowship. The Fall ABWM Conference will be held October 23-24 at the camp. I encourage you to plan to attend, it is so worth it.

ABW held their monthly meeting on May 6th at 1:00 pm in the Church Lounge. We had 22 in attendance. Hostesses were Shirley Horstman, Rochelle Johnson, and Jan Erickson. No meeting in June. Our Summer Coffees will be held on July 8 and August 5 at 10:00 am in the Church Lounge. The Bible Books of the Month: June - Numbers, July - James, and August - Deutronomy. ABWM held their Spring Luncheon on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in the Fellowship Hall. We had 42 in attendance.
A Big Thank You to President Shirley Horstman and Vickie Miller for organizing our event and for Vickie's skit, to Carol Nelson for handling registrations, to Sue Pudwill for her Devotion, to Mark Pudwill for the music, and to Rochelle Johnson for contacting our guest speaker, Melanie VerMaas. Also Thank You to everyone who provided table decorations and food for the buffet, and for attending. It was a great success!

ABW held their monthly meeting on April 1st at 1:00 pm in the Church Lounge. We had 21 in attendance. Hostesses were Jan Erickson and Ronneen Holden. In addition to our meeting, we had Bible Bingo with prizes led by Vickie Miller, and we filled the May Baskets for Maple Crest Home led by Rochelle Johnson. Our Ladies Spring Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 25. Sign up for tickets before and after church services. (Adults $10, Children $6). The next ABW meeting will be Wednesday, May 6. Hope to see you there!
