Most of us do not get burning bushes. We get ordinary days that only make sense looking backward. That is the book of Esther — a story where God is never named but never absent. And tomorrow we kick off our brand new series diving into it.

The book of Esther is unlike anything else in Scripture. God's name is never mentioned once in all 167 verses. No prayer, no covenant language, no miracles. And yet the whole story is a symphony of moments too perfectly timed to be luck. A sleepless king, a forgotten good deed, a queen's courage at just the right moment. The absence of God's name is not an absence of God. He is the King behind the king, working behind the scenes without ever stepping onto the stage himself.

If you have ever wondered whether God is actually paying attention to your story, this series is for you.

In a world where truth is constantly questioned and the Bible is dismissed as outdated — Jesus steps in and makes his opinion very clear.

He didn't come to abolish Scripture. He came to fulfill it. Every promise, every prophecy, every word — pointing straight to him. And if we trust Christ as our Savior, we can trust his Word without reservation. 🙏

This past Sunday Pastor Brett continued our summer series, The Greatest Teacher Ever, in Matthew 5:13–16. 🙌

We spend so much energy trying to figure out what we're supposed to do for God. But Jesus flips that on its head. You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. It's not a command — it's an identity. And when you live it out in your everyday life, in the ordinary rhythms of where you work and who you love and how you live — it changes things. A little salt goes a long way. A single light can cut through the darkest night. Go be what you are. 🙏

🔒 Church Safety & Security Training | Sat, June 13 | 8 AM – Noon

We want everyone who serves and gathers at Citylight North to feel equipped and confident in keeping our church a safe place. This training is open to the whole church and strongly encouraged for all Sunday volunteers.

Training will cover situational awareness, behavior recognition, verbal de-escalation, and security team operations. Snacks will be provided.

Sunday Pastor Brett continued our summer series, The Greatest Teacher Ever. 🙌
We all want the good life. But if we're honest, so many of us have been chasing it in places that keep coming up empty. More success. Better circumstances. The right relationship.
Jesus says there's a better way. And it starts not with getting more — but with recognizing how desperate we are for him. The good news? That desperation is exactly where he meets us. He doesn't wait for us to clean ourselves up. He runs toward us. He offers us his righteousness in exchange for our sin, and his mercy when we deserve anything but.
