This morning we had the joy of witnessing Henry Michael’s baptism! Kevin shared our Kids Message right beforehand, and used a great illustration involving a Gamecock jersey. We dress our kids in team clothing and take them to games and share our enthusiasm with them, all with the hope that one day they might attend that school. Similarly, we baptize our children as a sign and seal of God’s covenant of grace, we teach them His Word, and point them to Him, trusting that God will work in their lives and bring them to salvation.

Our WSF Student Group starts back up this Sunday! We play games, enjoy snacks, and break in to small groups to study the Bible and apply it to our lives. We are also excited to start having 1-1 and small group discipleship outside of Sunday afternoons. Join us in praying for our students and leaders this year!

Going camping is always a blast, but the dreaded walk in the dark to the campground bathrooms is a harrowing feat, especially if you forget the flashlight. A lit iPhone is helpful, but not enough to give you confidence that the stick in front of you isn’t going to slither across the path and say good evening.

Scripture says that we were a people groping around in the dark until a great light was revealed to the world. Christ is the Great Light, the Light of the world, giving clarity not only to the darkness around us, but also to the darkness that dwells within us. As Christians, we have been graciously brought into His light out of the darkness. We are also called to walk in the light of His truth, the Word of God. In our passage this Sunday, John compares those who walk in the light and those who walk in darkness. We can confess that we believe, but if we continue to walk in the darkness, then the light of Christ is not in us. John is saying that our confession of faith is validated by the way we walk. In other words, our actions speak louder than our words. Let’s spur each other not only to walk, but to run the race marked out for us in the light of Christ.

SendCola Citywide Prayer for the Nations is a way to gather the broader church of Columbia together to pray and worship God and cultivate a burden for seeing His Name known among the Nations.
Watershed is excited to host their gathering on September 12. The specific focus of this day will be for the unreached indigenous tribes of the Amazon, who face severe isolation from the outside world and do not have regular access to the Gospel or the scriptures in their own language. We hope you can join us for this special time of prayer and worship!

Henry Michael is a Robbins! We’re so thrilled for Nate and Emily, and for big brother Jacob and big sister Elizabeth. These children are a gift, and we as a church are humbled that we could walk alongside the Robbins as God has grown their family.

Women of Watershed are invited to a night of fellowship with the goal of forming connections & groups that will continue in community together beyond this event! Bring a snack to share, if you can. More details below!

Based on some of the questions you answer in registration, along with activities planned for the 14th, we hope to put together groups of ladies that span different ages & stages of life but have similar interests.
Our hope for these groups is that the ladies will be mutually encouraging to each other and find ways to “do life” together. We’ll put you together, but it’s up to you to grow the friendships! (Meet weekly or meet monthly; meet for coffee or walk; meal prep together or read a book; whatever your group wants to do!)
