Our Harnessing Hope Fellowship was a sweet time of sharing a meal, connecting with one another, and celebrating the hope we have in Jesus.

Thank you to Life In The Word for welcoming us and to everyone who helped make this gathering special. Your hospitality reminds us how much a shared meal and a warm welcome can mean.

At Davidson Prison Ministry, every person brings something valuable to the mission. You may be called to pray, mentor, teach, prepare a meal, provide transportation, connect someone with employment, volunteer at an event, or give financially.

Some roles serve the ministry inside the prison, while others support returning citizens through The Lighthouse and our community partnerships. Every act of service helps strengthen our mission to the incarcerated church.

You do not have to do everything—you simply need to be willing to do your part.

Successful reentry takes a community.

Churches, employers, healthcare providers, transportation partners, mentors, volunteers, and donors each provide an important piece of the support returning citizens need to move forward.

When community partners unite around compassion and practical assistance, barriers become opportunities—and second chances become stronger.

🏠 A SAFE PLACE AFTER RELEASE

Imagine leaving prison with everything you own in one bag—and nowhere safe to sleep that night.

For men returning to our community, housing can mean the difference between a stronger start and immediate crisis. Through The Lighthouse, Davidson Prison Ministry provides more than a bed. Residents receive stability, accountability, case management, employment support, life-skills development, transportation assistance, and connection to community resources.

When correctional staff contacted us about men facing release without a home plan, The Lighthouse helped prevent homelessness and provided a safe place to begin again.

This is what local ministry looks like: meeting a critical need at exactly the right moment.

📖 BEHIND THE SCENES: PREPARING WITH PURPOSE

Before Friday night Bible study begins, we prepare lessons, gather Bibles, organize materials, and—most importantly—offer prayers.

Each packet and resource is prepared with a specific man in mind: someone who needs encouragement, biblical truth, and the reminder that God has not forgotten him.

The time spent around this table is part of the ministry. We prepare the materials, but we trust God to prepare hearts.

Please join us in praying for the men attending Bible study at Davidson Correctional Center and for every volunteer who faithfully shares the hope of Christ.

🏠 Men facing release without a safe place to live have found stability through The Lighthouse.

🤝 More than 45 men released from our local prison remain connected to encouragement, resources, and a supportive community.

📖 Men inside Davidson Correctional Center are growing through Bible study, discipleship, Celebrate Recovery, and practical life-skills programs.

Each Bible provided, class taught, prayer offered, and donation received helps create a pathway from incarceration to hope.

A Local Mission to the Incarcerated Church

Davidson Prison Ministry believes that incarceration does not place anyone beyond the reach of God’s grace, truth, or transforming love.

As a locally supported ministry, we serve men inside Davidson Correctional Center through chaplaincy, Bible study, discipleship, Celebrate Recovery, fatherhood education, and other faith-based programs. Our ministry continues beyond the prison gate through reentry housing, mentoring, practical assistance, and connections to community resources.

Every Bible opened, lesson taught, prayer offered, and safe place provided represents another opportunity for hope and restoration.

This work is possible because local churches, donors, volunteers, businesses, and community partners choose to walk alongside us.

🙏 THANKFUL FRIDAY 🙏

Today, Davidson Prison Ministry pauses to thank God for every donor, volunteer, church, correctional staff member, community partner, and prayer warrior who supports this ministry.

Because of your faithfulness, men are receiving biblical encouragement, discipleship, practical assistance, and hope for a new beginning after incarceration. Every prayer, gift, hour of service, and act of kindness helps us continue being “A local mission to the incarcerated church.”
