“And Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness throughout all the land of Egypt for three days… But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings” (Exodus 10:22-23).
Satan has long promoted a lie—that God’s people must expect the same darkness, defeat, fear, poverty, and failure that overwhelm the world around them. Sadly, many have believed that rumor. But God’s Word tells a different story. When darkness covered Egypt, the covenant people of God still had light in their homes. In the same way, those who abide in Christ are not appointed to live under the dominion of the world’s darkness. Psalm 91:10 declares that no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. While challenges may arise, God’s presence, protection, and provision set His people apart. Refuse the enemy’s lie and stand firmly on God’s promises, knowing that His light still shines in the midst of a dark world.
