And we're off! 🚌 Our Steubenville participants gathered for Mass this morning and are officially on the road to the University of St. Thomas!

We are thankful to welcome Deacon Jonathan Eckrich to St. Francis of Assisi Pastorate! 🤍 Serving the parishes of St. Christina, St. Katharine Drexel, and St. Magdalen, you may have already seen him at our liturgies. Get to know a bit about him below:

I was ordained to the permanent diaconate on May 15, 2021 by Bishop Donald Degrood. Prior to this, I’ve been assigned to St. Michael Parish and St. Joseph Cathedral. I regularly serve at St. Francis House, and am involved with Ecclesia Domestica. I greatly look forward to assisting our pastor and parochial vicars in their spiritual care of the holy people of the St. Francis of Assisi Pastorate.

My wife is Lori (married June 4, 1988). I have three daughters, Leigh (Sioux Falls), Maria (Dayton, OH) and Erin (Sioux Falls), and two grandsons, Jude and Simon. I grew up in Aberdeen, as one of eight children. I received degrees in Computer Science & Computer Engineering from Iowa State University. I like hunting, kick boxing, gardening and reading on the latest trends in technology (AI, quantum computing) as well as a wide variety of spiritual reading.
