We love our Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus!

A special shout-out to all our community partners who came together to help us transform and beautify the grounds of Shalom House over the last two weeks. We are overjoyed with the results and it would not have been possible without their skills and generosity!

Thank you to Dylan Parsley of Wyandotte County K-State Extension, for his thoughtful design and guiding the volunteers, to the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish Knights of Columbus Council of Palms #6673 in Lenexa for their manual labor and generosity of $500 which helped purchase materials and to the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions who lent a hand with the planting. Thank you all for helping us cultivate a welcoming and beautiful environment for our residents!

If you are looking for a fulfilling outdoor volunteer project, we are seeking volunteers to help with upkeep of the grounds, including lawn mowing in the summer and watering our new plants! If you are interested, email us at [email protected].

On this feast day of Our Lady of Fatima, Fr. Dan Mauro led a special lesson for Holy Trinity School’s fifth graders.

Our campus is blessed to have two spaces dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared in 1917 to three children in Portugal: Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta.

The prayer garden next to the Stone Chapel, visible from Pflumm Road, was dedicated in the 1950s in memory of Fr. John O’Keefe, who served as Holy Trinity’s pastor from 1938 to 1951.

In addition, the Holy Trinity School Class of 2017 gifted the parish a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which stands in front of the school.

Congrats, Mustangs! You raised an incredible $54,000 for Wacky Walk. As promised, one of the fundraising incentives earned our principal a night sleeping on the roof! Thank you to everyone who supported and made this such a fun and successful effort.

Congratulations to Holy Trinity’s First Holy Communicants! Throughout April, we joyfully celebrated the First Holy Communion of our parish children at weekend Masses.

Holy Trinity’s sacramental preparation process highlights the important role of parents in their child’s spiritual formation. In the traditional parish model, families attend monthly gatherings that focus on the meaning of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, along with a morning retreat in the spring before Holy Week for prayer and reflection.

Children in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program follow a different path. Their preparation begins with five Lenten meditation nights, where children and parents reflect separately on the Eucharist and God’s mercy. This culminates in a four-day retreat, during which the children receive both their First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Please join us in congratulating the children and their families.
