This Sunday we will gather to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and look intently into His Word together!

What does it look like for a marriage to be shaped by the Gospel of Jesus Christ? In Ephesians 5:21–33, God declares that marriage is more than a human relationship—it is a God-designed picture of Christ’s love for His church. In this week’s sermon we return to our series on the Gospel-Shaped Family and consider God’s pattern for marriage roles. We will explore God’s design for husbands and wives and discover how the Gospel transforms the way we love, serve, lead, and submit to one another. Wives are called to submit to their husbands as the church submits to Christ, while husbands are commanded to love their wives with the same sacrificial, self-giving love that Christ demonstrated for His church.

At the heart of this passage is not merely a set of instructions for marriage, but the example of Jesus Himself. His love is the pattern for Christian husbands, His lordship is the foundation for Christian wives, and His relationship with the church is the great mystery that marriage is designed to display. Whether you are married, single, or preparing for marriage this passage and other related scriptures remind us that a healthy, God-honoring marriage begins with the Gospel. As we look to Christ, we learn that marriage is not ultimately about getting what we want from one another, but about reflecting the love, grace, holiness, and faithfulness of our Savior. Join us as we consider how the Gospel shapes our marriages for the glory of Christ and the good of His people.

This Sunday we will gather to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and look intently into His Word together!

Every family is being shaped by something. Our culture has its own ideas about love, marriage, parenting, and what makes a home successful. We are constantly being told what a family should look like, what it should value, and what it should pursue. However, the family was God's idea, established by His design and intended to reflect His glory. If we want to understand what a family is supposed to be, we must begin not with our voices of culture or our personal experiences, but with the Word of God.

On Sunday, we will begin a new series entitled, “The Gospel-Shaped Family.” Over the coming weeks, we will explore how the Gospel must shape our marriages, our parenting, our relationships, and the everyday life of our homes. We will begin by walking through several passages of Scripture that point us to God’s patterns for marriage and how the Gospel must shape how we live within it. In the end, we will look to Christ, who transforms the way we love, serve, forgive, and live together.

As you look forward to worshipping with the body of Christ on Sunday, ask God to prepare your heart to receive His Word as well as give you the grace to walk in obedience to it as it is proclaimed.
