One of the most difficult things for "grown-ups" to do is have our minds changed (about anything); but this is what Christ desires for us - and not just to have our minds changed, but to be TRANSFORMED. Indeed, this is what being grafted to the Vine is.

In May, we are exploring the theme "In Christ" as part of our long-form sermon series on our church tagline — In Christ. In Community. In Lebanon.

There are obstacles that can prevent us from abiding in Jesus.

PAIN can take various forms, including the consequences of sin, other people's sin, brokenness of the world, sickness, death, loss of a job, and more, which can distort one's understanding of God and lead to distrust.

OVERSTUFFING one's life, leaving no space for Jesus or his words to abide, highlights the importance of creating space for Jesus and prioritizing relationships and intimacy with him.

JESUS desires intimacy with each person, regardless of age or story, and calls them to abide in him and for him to abide in them

This coming Sunday, before the sermon, we'll hear from John Awasarmal for a few minutes.

John Awasarmal, a native minister of India, who has been at Cornerstone before, plans to be with us again on May 10.

John was with us about 3 years ago when he was staying with Mike & Lora Bordon. When Mike & Lora served years ago with YWAM in India, they worked with John, who also served there.

The Bordons think very highly of John from their years of experience with him.

John is working to lead people in the state of Maharashtra, India, to Jesus, plant churches, and raise up pastors.

Many of the new Christians have very little in terms of material possessions. John gives each pastor a couple of goats, which they can use to frugally provide for their families while doing their work as pastors.

John is currently overseeing 15 congregations. John's vision is "to reach the people of Maharashtra with the Gospel of Jesus." John's mission is "to equip local leaders, train them so they can evangelize and serve their own community."

He works at this ministry by reaching villages, through prayer ministry and Esther prayer groups, the goat project, and training local leaders.
