Sunday mornings can feel different for each of us. Some of you come to church full of encouragement, and yet others may be walking in tired from the week. Either way, I am thankful the Lord gathers us again and puts His Word before us.

My prayer is that we would come honestly before the Lord this morning, and remember that Jesus is enough for His people.

Every day is a merciful gift from God, and so we gather to worship God because He has spoken, His Word is truth, and it has the power to save.

My prayer for us today is that we would hear from God with humble faith. May the Lord make His Word weighty to us again, and may our worship be filled with the joy and salvation we have found in Jesus Christ.

Whatever kind of week you’ve had, bring it honestly before God. The Lord is faithful to meet His people through His Word, and He is worthy of our praise.

My prayer is that as we gather, we would encourage one another and leave with fresh joy in Jesus. The Gospel is great news for weary sinners, and there is grace enough in Jesus for all who come to Him.

As we gather under the Word of God, remember that we all come as people who are in great need of God's abundant grace, but also that we come to a Savior who is kind enough to open our eyes again. We all know that our hearts tire out quicker than we would like and we become too easily distracted with worldly bobbles. Praise the Lord that in His providence, Jesus calls us back to Himself and reminds us that true joy is found in belonging to Him.

May the Spirit of God open our minds to understand the God's Word and give us hearts that are glad to bow before Jesus our King.
