SUNDAY AT FBC LEANDER — 10:30 AM

Our culture tells us to follow your desires, celebrate your impulses, and never let anyone tell you that what you want might be wrong.

The Bible tells us something very different.

“We must not indulge in sexual immorality, as some of them did…” — 1 Corinthians 10:8

Sin doesn’t become harmless because it’s popular.
It doesn’t become holy because it’s celebrated.
And it doesn’t become acceptable because everyone else is doing it.

But here’s the part the world desperately needs to hear:

The gospel isn’t “try harder to be good.”

The gospel is that Jesus Christ died for sinners—including sinners like us. He calls us to repent, forgives us when we come to Him, and gives us His Spirit to live differently in a culture that increasingly calls darkness light.

Come hear the Word. Come be challenged. Come be convicted. Come be reminded that holiness is still beautiful—and Jesus is still in the business of saving sinners.

The culture doesn’t need a church that echoes it.
It needs a Church courageous enough to tell the truth—and loving enough to point sinners to Jesus.

THEY SAW THE RED SEA AND STILL REBELLED 🔥

Next Sunday at 10:30 AM — FBC Leander

Israel saw the power of God with their own eyes.

They saw the plagues fall on Egypt.
They saw the Red Sea open before them.
They walked through on dry ground.
They watched Pharaoh’s army disappear beneath the waters.
They ate bread from heaven.
They drank water from the rock.

And still… they rebelled.

📖 “Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.” — 1 Corinthians 10:8

The wilderness did not create Israel’s rebellion.

The wilderness revealed it.

And that same wilderness still preaches today.

How quickly can we forget what God has done?
How easily can we become impatient when God doesn’t move on our timetable?
How quickly can we exchange the presence of God for the pleasures of the flesh?
How easily can we tolerate the very sins God called us to leave behind?

The story of Israel is not merely history—it is a warning.

We can sit in church and still drift.
We can witness God’s blessings and still become cold.
We can know the truth and still harden our hearts.

But there is hope.

God is calling His people back.

Back to holiness.
Back to obedience.
Back to reverence.
Back to the fear of the Lord.
Back to wholehearted faith.

🔥 This coming Sunday, we are going into the wilderness—not to stay there, but to hear what God is saying to His people.

Come ready for the Word of God.
Come ready for conviction.
Come ready for repentance.
Come ready for revival.

Join us for Sunday worship @ 10:30

God’s people cannot safely entertain, preserve, or excuse what competes with His authority. Israel was warned to drive out the influences that would become “barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides”—because compromise that seems manageable today can become bo***ge tomorrow.

The presence of the tabernacle did not make Israel immune to idolatry. They could be surrounded by the truth and still compromise with false gods. That is why God’s command was severe: the issue was not merely what Israel tolerated in their own generation, but what their tolerance would teach the generations that followed.

Every generation leaves something behind. We either tear down the idols that compete with God, or we leave them standing for our children to encounter and possibly worship.

Bottom line:
What you refuse to tear down, the next generation may learn to worship. So drive out what God told you not to entertain, tear down what competes with His authority, and refuse to call compromise “cultural” or “manageable” when God has already called it dangerous.

Don’t Let It Stay — Numbers 33:55

Israel was entering the Promised Land, but God warned them not to allow what He told them to remove to remain among them.

What they tolerated would eventually become “pricks in your eyes” and “thorns in your sides.”

There’s a word for us: what you tolerate today can trouble you tomorrow.

Some things must be released—not because God is trying to take from you, but because He is protecting what He has prepared for you.

You’ve come too far to let old things hinder your new season.

Trust God. Obey His Word. Let it go.

Be encouraged—the promise is still ahead!
