Bright Christian Church Love God. Love People. Impact Our World. Sundays at 9 AM and 10:45 AM

On Sunday, Greg continued the series “Hidden” by recounting Eve’s temptation by the serpent in the garden that led to not only banishment but also separation from God. It’s a given that satan deceived Eve by making her question the very command of God. What’s not so obvious is the hidden desires of Adam and Eve’s heart.

Genesis 3:6 reads, “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.” This tells us that Eve examined the fruit, her eyes liked what she saw, and she was convinced there was something to gain from it. Eve doesn’t stop there. Continuing in verse 6, it reads, “She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” This led to Adam’s choice to go against God’s command, as well.

Adam and Eve’s choice to eat the fruit not only brought physical death, but also eternal death (separation from God). Sin entered the world and developed a growing appetite by man. However, through God’s grace, before the creation of the world, He chose His son Jesus as the sin payment for every one of us. It is through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection that the serpent’s head has been crushed, and Jesus reigns in victory. Therefore, we must overcome sinful desires by being hungry for God’s presence, purpose and promises.

Compassion Sunday at BCC is April 12!

Approximately 15 years ago, BCC raised money to build a church in Ricaurte, Ecuador. At the same time, many of our church members sponsored children from that area. A large group of us were blessed several times to travel to Ecuador on a mission trip to assist in laying tile in the church, helping with other projects, and meeting and forming friendships with our Compassion children. It was, and is, a life-changing experience!

Will you please prayerfully consider sponsoring a child living in poverty as well? The commitment is $43/month. You’ll help them see themselves as precious and valuable in the eyes of God — which is one of the most potent weapons against poverty. And when it’s paired with nutritious food to combat hunger, tutoring, regular medical checkups and vocational training... the result is a tangible and sustainable impact!

Visit the table in the foyer on April 12 to make a difference in a child's life.

Friends,

As we approach Resurrection weekend, I want to challenge our church family to invite family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join us for a three-message sermon series titled King Jesus. The sermon series will begin with Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. As Jesus entered Jerusalem, fulfilling prophecies, He also entered the final days that would lead to His death on the cross.

Nick McDonough will be teaching the second message on Good Friday at 7:00pm. Nick will focus us on Christ’s crucifixion and the symbol that revealed Jesus was no ordinary king. Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!

I will be teaching the third and final message on Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, relating to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He is our Redeemer. Jesus is our Risen King! We look forward to worshiping and growing with you all throughout this series.

Jesus is King!

Deception. Desires. Devotion.

In Genesis 3-4, we see how sin shaped the human story. But even in the midst of man's disobedience, God had a plan from the very beginning.

Join us next week as we continue our latest sermon series, "Hidden."

BCC Family,

Tonight, at Wednesdays at the Well, we will be discussing the importance of prayer in the life of a Christian. Many Christians say they simply do not know how to pray. As we gather around God’s word together tonight, we will learn from Jesus about why we should pray, how we should pray, what we should pray for, and finally, when we should pray.

With all of the corruption, chaos, and confusion in the world, we will also take time to pray together. Specifically, I want us to pray together over the condition of many churches that are built on man’s word rather than God’s word. Everyday it seems churches and church leaders are making the headlines because of immoral behavior, unbiblical leadership, and a lack of God-honoring accountability. It is important that we pray for conviction and repentance to take place among church leaders who have taken people they are supposed to lead biblically down the “wide road that leads to destruction.” Jesus wants us on the “narrow road that leads to life” (Matthew 7:13-14).

Second, I want us to pray together over the war that is raging in the Middle East. Though the citizens in Iran have experienced brutal treatment under the evil Islamic government, many Iranians are turning away from the false religion of Islam and committing their lives to Jesus Christ. One statistic revealed that there has been a 20% growth in Christianity each year for the past few years in Iran. As Christians, we have many brothers and sisters in Christ in Iran. We should be praying for Iran to experience freedom from the bo***ge of an Islamic regime that follows the false god Allah, and that people in Iran would experience freedom in Christ (Galatians 5:1). We also have many other brothers and sisters in Christ in Israel, Qutar, Saudi Arabia, and every other country in the Middle East.

Third, I am inviting us to pray together over President Trump and his administration as well as our military service men and women and their families. Let’s pray that America’s leaders will lead with a renewed commitment to Jesus Christ and His word, and that they would lead with conviction to do what is God-honoring. I believe the decision President Trump has made will make Iran and the world a safer place. Let’s pray to that end!

Together as One!
Learn. Live. Love. Lead.

Who We Are

Whatever your story, you are welcome here at Bright Church. We exist to Love God. Love People. & Impact The World. That starts with our sense of Community from the moment you walk through our doors. We pray that you feel welcome here at Bright!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • Jesus to be the Head of the Church.

  • The Bible to be the Holy Spirit-inspired Word of God, His revelation of Himself and His will for man. It is the Christian's guidebook to a purposeful life, a road map to heaven and the only standard by which right and wrong is to be judged.
