So when someone thinks of Pentecostal history, most people will tell you about Azuza Street. The revival in LA with William Seymour, and all of the amazing things. God did there. Some will tell you about Topeka, Kansas, at the school, where William Seymour learned about Pentecost from Charles Parham. But a little known footnote is that Charles Parham was originally from Southern Kansas and actually helped to plant a church in a little town called Keelville. It is the first recognized Pentecostal Church in America
Today, the church is still there and still going, but it’s kind of removed physically from a lot of society. 10 miles away from the nearest proper town
Last night, my good friend evangelist Josh Radford had the opportunity to go there and minister. So myself and a few from my church drove down about 2 1/2 hours away. I have always been someone that wants to drink from the old wells and taste and see that the Lord is good in the same ways that previous generations had.
It was an honor to stand inside that church to feel the presence of the Lord, to see the supernatural kingdom of our God at work. Often times we can look at an old building in a field and see it as a place that time forgot, but God has never forgotten.
