We wanted to share this heartfelt testimony given by one of our members on Sunday. We hope it blesses you as much as it blessed us:
Over the years I have pondered and questioned what does it mean to walk with, experience, touch or interact with Jesus. Have I embraced Him, had a two way conversation, experienced him as I have friends and family. The definitive answer is not physically as the Apostles did.
I was recently reminded by that quiet voice I believe is the Holy Spirit maybe I asked the wrong questions, looked in the wrong places, or been blinded by the world. As Nancy and I have gone thru the recent storms of life we have experienced one could easily get angry and demand where are you Father God or Jesus or why hasn’t the Holy Spirit spoke directly to me?
Yes! I/we have experienced and met Jesus on numerous occasions. Sunday morning walking in to the foyer and the handshakes and hugs, the many loving post cards from locals and across the country, a visit by a couple of the Deaconesses that brought supper and loving support, a house plant from the Church family, a visit by our Pastor, strength and encouragement in quiet moments from the Holy Spirit and a young neighbor lady sitting and visiting with us. Yes we have experienced Jesus. I have been reminded that the Saints are the hands, feet, support, encouragement, and Spiritual message from Jesus at just the right time and moment to tell us we are loved and watched over by our Savior.
I have also recently been reminded when the disciples were in the storms of life Jesus was in the boat with them and calmed the seas. 11 cowards abandoned and denied Jesus as He was headed for the Cross and 10 died martyrs death because of their love and commitment after they witnessed and directly experienced the depth of His love for us. So when I begin to wallow in self pity I remind myself I am surrounded by Jesus and experiencing Him thru you folks.
These are just a few comments to express my appreciation and thanks for your willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus and the powerful impact this has had on us as we ride out this storm. God bless!
