What a blessing today was! 💙🎒

We’re so thankful for everyone who joined us for our Back to School Expo and for the opportunity to serve the students and families of Laurel. Seeing our community come together to love on and support our kids was such a special way to spend the day.

🇺🇸 Parade Update for The Rock Church Faith Family 🇺🇸

We wanted to let everyone know about an unexpected change regarding this year’s Laurel Fourth of July Parade.

For more than 10 years, participating in the parade has been one of the highlights of our ministry. Each year we have followed the same registration process, so we went to the Chamber of Commerce to register our float just as we always have.

To our surprise, we learned that this year the parade committee limited the parade to 50 entries. Unfortunately, we were informed that the parade had already reached that limit and that we would not be able to participate this year.

Needless to say, we are disappointed. This parade has become a special tradition for our church, and we know many of you were planning to be here bright and early to help decorate, ride on the float, hand out candy, and represent The Rock Church in our community. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and wanted to let everyone know as soon as we could.

At the same time, we understand that the committee had reasons for limiting the size of the parade this year, and we appreciate all of the work that goes into organizing such a great community event. We certainly hope to be back in the parade next year if we’re able to secure a spot.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll still enjoy all the festivities happening around Laurel this weekend. If you’re out and about, throw on your TRC shirt, be a blessing to those around you, and represent Jesus well. Our greatest opportunity to “Be the Light” has never been limited to a parade route.
