Just Do It

Message of the day--
At the wedding in Cana, the servants had a problem in front of them and instructions that made no sense. Fill water pots. That is not how you solve a w**e shortage. But they did not debate it. They did not wait until they understood the plan. They just did what Jesus said, and they witnessed something miraculous. That is the pattern of obedience throughout Scripture. You do not have to understand the instructions in order to experience the results. You just have to trust the One giving them. John 2:5 captures it simply. Mary's instruction to the servants is still the best advice for any believer today. Whatever He tells you, do it. Not when it makes sense. Not when everyone agrees. Not when you feel ready. Just do it. Obedience is not a burden when love is the motive. We do not follow God to earn His love. We follow Him because we have already received it. His boundaries are not walls keeping you from good things. They are a path leading you into the life He designed specifically for you. So here is the question to close this week. What has God told you to do that you have not done yet? You already know the answer. Now take the step.

Bible verse of the day--
'His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."' - John 2:5

Quote of the day--
"You don't have to understand the instructions in order to experience the miraculous results that come from obedience."

Reflection question of the day--
What is one specific thing God has been calling you to do that you have been waiting to feel more ready or more certain about before taking the first step?

Stop Polling, Start Obeying

Message of the day--
We have all done it. God makes something clear, and instead of obeying, we start asking around. We talk to one friend, then another, then a third, until finally someone tells us what we were hoping to hear. Then we call it confirmation. But here is the honest truth. Oftentimes we are not looking for God's will. We are looking for permission to do our own will. And when we already know what God has said, asking for more opinions is not wisdom. It is delay dressed up as discernment. James 2:17 is direct about this. Faith without action is dead. It does not matter how much you believe in your heart if that belief never moves your hands and feet. Faith has to have feet. This is not meant to be discouraging. It is actually freeing. You do not need everyone to understand your obedience. You do not need a unanimous vote from the people in your life. If God has spoken, that is enough. His Word is not one opinion among many. It is the authority by which every other idea must be measured. Trust what He has already told you. Then move.

Bible verse of the day--
'In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.' - James 2:17

Quote of the day--
"Oftentimes we aren't really looking for God's will. We're looking for permission to do our will. We'll ask five people until somebody finally tells us what we want to hear, and then we'll call it confirmation."

Reflection of the day--
Have you been seeking more opinions about something God has already made clear, and if so, what is the real reason you have not moved yet?
