The Lord is our Shepherd. He leads us, restores us, walks with us through dark valleys, and reminds us that we are never alone.

Whatever this week holds, may we remember who walks beside us.

Take a few minutes today to read Psalm 23 and rest in the promises of our Good Shepherd.

Meet Amanda Stepanek, one of the many people who help make Mountain View Lutheran the community it is.

Amanda is an active member of our congregation, a teacher at Faith Lutheran Middle & High School, and our main contact for LWML. She is also someone you can regularly find helping wherever she is needed.

This Sunday is LWML Sunday, making it the perfect week to introduce you to someone who helps keep our LWML chapter active and connected at Mountain View Lutheran.

Amanda, thank you for the many ways you serve, encourage, teach, and lend a helping hand. We are grateful for you!

Yesterday, we wrapped up our Come to the Oasis series by looking at John 1:35–46, where Philip invited Nathanael to come and see Jesus for himself.

Sometimes inviting someone to church, to a Bible study, to breakfast, or simply into a conversation about faith can feel intimidating. But Philip’s invitation was simple: “Come and see.”

And that’s really what this series has been about. In a dry and weary world, we have something worth sharing: the refreshing, never-changing love of Christ.

We also got to put “Welcome Warmly” into practice at our People & Plates community breakfast! Thank you to everyone who came, served, cooked, talked, laughed, and helped make it such a welcoming morning.

The series may be over, but the invitation continues.

Come. Welcome. Invite.

When Philip encountered Jesus, his response was simple: “Come and see.” He didn’t have all the answers or a polished presentation. He simply invited someone else to experience Jesus for themselves.

We had so much fun getting to know one another at Hello, Neighbor Mixer last Sunday that we’re keeping the conversations going!

Join us this Sunday at 9:30am for People & Plates, a chance to gather around good food, enjoy some coffee and breakfast, and continue meeting the people who make up our Mountain View community.

And this Sunday is a special one for us, our K-2nd grade students and their families will be joining us for the 8:00am worship service, during which our students will be singing!

Jesus didn’t give His life for a select few, for the people who had everything figured out, or for those who had earned it. Christ died for us, and because He died and rose again, we are invited to live differently: no longer centered on ourselves, but on the One who gave everything for us.

Take a few minutes today to read 2 Corinthians 5:14–21 and sit with the simple, powerful truth that Christ died for you, for me, for all.

Meet Christina Oka!

Christina wears a LOT of hats around Mountain View Lutheran. She teaches computers at our school, leads our Monday and Friday Women’s Bible Studies, volunteers in the sound room, helps keep our technology running smoothly, and somehow always seems to be the person who knows exactly what to do when something needs doing.

But more than all of that, Christina is someone who brings kindness, enthusiasm, and a willingness to help wherever she’s needed.

We’re so grateful for everything Christina brings to our Mountain View community. Thanks for being you, Christina!
