Cards & Games Night Continues!

Join us for a fun evening of games, laughter, and great company!

We’re excited to continue our game card and game night on 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month. So come out, join the group, and help us build something fun for months to come!

Along with your favorite games and cards, feel free to bring snacks or finger foods to share if you’d like. We’ll also be accepting donations to CSL for the use of the space.

Hello Dear Ones,

October is here. The days are getting shorter, the evenings a little darker, and before long there will be ghosts and skeletons popping up on porches and in yards all over town.

There’s something wonderfully playful about this time of year. For a few weeks, we don’t just tolerate the dark—we decorate it!

And that makes it the perfect time to begin our new theme for October: Dancing with the Shadow.

This month, we’re going to explore some of the parts of ourselves we don’t always bring into the light—the feelings, stories, reactions, and pieces of ourselves we may have learned to hide, judge, or push away.

But don’t worry. We’re not spending October wandering around in the gloom! We’re going to play in the dark a little. What happens when we stop running from the parts of ourselves we’d rather not see and turn around to meet them instead? Maybe there’s something hiding in the shadows worth discovering.

This Sunday, we begin with Dancing in the Dark.

Come as you are—light, shadow, and everything in between. There’s room for all of you here.

⚠️ Most of New Mexico is highlighted in the latest Mesoscale Precipitation Discussion from the Weather Prediction Center. Widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon, with rainfall rates of 1-2"+ per hour possible in the strongest storms.

The WPC says numerous areas of flash flooding are expected, with significant and life-threatening flooding possible, especially around arroyos, burn scars, slot canyons, and urban areas.

The threat will continue into this evening, especially across eastern New Mexico, as the remnants of Polo move in.

This October, we’re trying something different. We’re Dancing with the Shadow—exploring what can happen when we turn toward ourselves with a little more curiosity and a little less judgment.

Reverend Bonnie felt the call to ministry when she was in High School back in the 70’s. She attended Grinnell College where she double majored in religion and psychology graduating with a BA (1980). Reverend Bonnie then became a certified in American Sign Language interpreter, and has been serving the deaf community for over 30 years.

Rev Bonnie found her home in Religious Science in 2000 when she walked into the Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living. She moved to Las Cruces in 2006 as she started her last year at the Holmes Institute with the goal of becoming a Community Spiritual Leader in some capacity through the Centers for Spiritual Living. She received her MA in Consciousness Studies from the Holmes Institute in 2007. Presently she is an ordained Religious Science minister and Practitioner, and in the spring of 2013 began serving at the CSL in the Heart of Las Cruces, first as Interim, and then as the Permanent Community Spiritual Leader in November 2014.

Rev. Bonnie believes that uplifting our consciousness uplifts and changes our lives. You can meet with her for personal spiritual counseling, pastoral care, or to gain a deeper understanding of these teachings by making an appointment. Rev. Bonnie and the Center are also available to serve you in celebrating life events such as weddings, & memorials, etc. In addition, she is also fluent in American Sign Language.
