Itโ€™s been 25 years since the rollout of The United Methodist Churchโ€™s brand promise of โ€œOpen Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.โ€ Despite controversy, it remains relevant today, writes the Rev. Steve Horswill-Johnston. He led the team at United Methodist Communications that shaped the phrase.

There are conversations the Church has been slow to have. Linda S Fox has spent her life making sure they happen anyway.

Meet Linda Fox, author, speaker, survivor, and one of our breakout session speakers at the SOAR Impact Conference. Linda has 40 years of ministry experience and a calling that has only grown stronger.

She brings something rare to the stage: the perspective of someone who has lived the survivor journey and also spent decades helping others navigate it. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse herself, she understands the deep and lasting impact of childhood sexual trauma in a way that no textbook can teach.

Her session, The Silent Wound: What Pastors Need to Know About Childhood Sexual Abuse, speaks directly to church leaders:
- Equipping them to recognize the signs of unresolved trauma
- Respond with wisdom and compassion
- Help create church environments where survivors feel safe enough to speak

Survivors are already in your pews. They are already in your congregation. The question is whether they feel safe enough to tell you.

Linda is here to help change that. ๐Ÿ’œ
