Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has issued a statement on the recent proposal to livestream an ex*****on in the United States.

"As a church, we are not strangers to the mournful effects of violent crime. Our congregations minister to victims, to offenders and to communities that experience the ripple effects of its trauma. We recognize the need to protect people from violence, to call perpetrators to repentance, and to seek restoration for victims. United in our resistance to hate and in our joy over the good news of God’s grace, we minister to an often-vengeful society with words and actions of hope, justice and healing."

This past week, we were blessed to be visited by our Liberian ministry partner, Pastor Emmanuel Clarence Jonah. He penned a letter to us to help us understand the impact our partnership is having:

It was a joy to visit Maria Ardrey, Cathy, and Bill at the church this afternoon. I shared about the Maria Ardrey Literacy Program, and we praise God for the remarkable impact. Since establishing classes, over 230 women have learned to read and write, and more than 80 are now actively serving in their churches. Women who once felt unable to participate in ministry are now confident, equipped, and eager to be used by God. Praise the Lord.

None of this transformation would be possible without the prayers, partnership, and faithful support of Reformation Lutheran Church. Thank you for standing with the women of Liberia.

Even if you never travel to Liberia, always remember this: you are part of the transformation taking place in the lives of mothers and single mothers through the Maria Ardrey Literacy Program.
Please continue to pray with us as we help women in Liberia discover their God-given purpose through reading and writing.

We're excited to announce a new book study this fall! We'll do it in collaboration with our friends at St. Michael Lutheran Church.

We'll gather in fellowship to explore together. This time, our vehicle will be Piglet's Process: Process Theology for All God's Children (Bruce Epperly).

These sessions will be held on Thursday afternoons from 3-4:30, from October 29 to December 10 (skipping Thanksgiving week).

Saint Francis of Assisi recognised that animals were also made in the image of God, calling them brothers and sisters. Many of us have loved ones who are furry, scaly, or feathered. In honor of the Feast Day of Saint Francis, our partners at Christ Episcopal Church are warmly inviting us to a Blessing of the Animals—tomorrow, October 3, at 10 am.
I hope many of you will bring your beloved animals for a special blessing. Please make sure your animal friends stay on a leash or in a container of some sort. If it's more comfortable for your animal, you can just bring a picture of them.
