Broad Street Church of Christ

Broad Street Church of Christ Our Mission:
Connect with God
Connect with Others
Connect Others with God The Broad Street Church of Christ is a staple in historic, downtown LaGrange, GA.

The Christians that worship here are focused on bringing others to Christ and on building a close-knit family. We believe that “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”. We believe in the old and the new, intellectual understanding and intuitive sensitivity, reverent awe and joyful praise. As a church, we will pray together, sing together, hear a lesson from the Bible, share

in communion, and take up a collection. We encourage you to participate as you see fit, and while we would not expect you to give money for the obligations we have made, you are not excluded from any facet of our worship. If you have children, we have a staffed nursery and a “cry room” just outside the worship center. Also, we have great classes for all ages immediately following our morning worship service. You will meet friendly people and welcoming families from all over–with different backgrounds, in a variety of stages of life. Everyone you will meet will have their own problems and interests but members of this church are working toward a future home in Heaven. Our modern facilities offer accommodations for those who are handicapped. We offer audio headsets, handicap-accessible restrooms, building access ramps (interior/exterior), and auditorium wheelchair areas. There are lots of parking spaces, convenient to the building, for the disabled. If you have questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected] or call us at 7068844482. Our building is located at 408 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240. Find us online at http://www.broadstreetcoc.org . Find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/broadstreetcoc, on Twitter at , and our youth group on Instagram at

On staff is our pulpit minister, Evan Kirby and our youth minister, Colby Heath. The mission of the Broad Street Church is to share our passion for the supremacy of God in all things, so that we may:

Glorify the God we love. Share the good news of His righteousness with all men. Promote joy among believers in Christ. (Isaiah 43:6-7; Romans 15:8-9; Psalm 96:3)

We believe that “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.” — John Piper

(Psalm 73:25-26; 16:11)

We are committed to a healthy balance of the old and the new, depth and simplicity, intellectual understanding and intuitive sensitivity. We believe in reverent awe and expressive intimacy. We seek authentic God-centered intensity in our life as a church family. (1 Cor. 9:19; Psalm 100; John 3:36)

Ambition

Our aim is to be biblically saturated and biblically justified in our actions and convictions. Our outreach aim is to be soul winning and culture confronting in everything we do. (Romans 1:16-17; 2 Tim. 4:1-4; Acts 1:8)

September 6, 2026 - The Generous Life: Count Your Blessings

When I was in preaching school, I had a month where I did not receive enough monthly support. You see, in preaching school you are not allowed to have a job besides preaching somewhere on Sundays, so you rely on churches to send you support checks. One month I was severely short on my support and wondered what I was going to do. I came home to my apartment one afternoon to find a large wad of cash placed on my bedroom dresser. To this day, I do not know who gave me that money, but I am still thankful for their generosity in a trying time.

All of us have been touched by the generosity of someone at some point in our lives. To deny that would make us liars. I hope you will join us for the next several weeks as we look at what the generous life looks like in the context of someone who walks with Christ.

August 30, 2026 - Part of The Body: Grow

Growth is something that we've all come to expect in various areas of our lives.

If you have house plants, you expect them to grow when you give them nutrient-rich soil, adequate sunlight, and the right amount of water. If you are raising children, you expect your child to grow in a way that is appropriate with their age when you feed them, give them proper protection and shelter, and ensure they get plenty of exercise and sunlight.

We understand the principles of growth, but church growth is quite elusive. We assume if the church is being fed correctly, the church will just grow. Being fed correctly is essential, but it is not the only factor in church growth.

I hope you'll join us for a final lesson on the expectations Broad Street has on its membership.

August 23, 2026 - Part of The Body: Serve

You've probably heard of the 80/20 rule. It is pretty well-known among people who deal with volunteers that 20% of the people are going to end up doing 80% of the work. This most likely tracks with paid positions too, and if you've ever done a group project in school, then you know this to be true. The 80/20 rule, at this point in time, is downright ubiquitous, and churches are no exception.

This is obviously a problem in a church because the members of the church have been added to the body of Christ and have important roles and responsibilities. This isn't some insignificant group project that you can phone in and still pass the class. Paul called this a high calling that you are to walk worthy of (Eph 4:1).

I hope you will join us for a lesson on the need for church members to serve God, each other, and those to whom we have a mission to bring to Christ.

August 16, 2026 - Part of The Body: Connect

As the body of Christ, the number one most important thing is that we are connected to the head, connected to Christ our King. Maintaining our relationship with Christ is paramount. This is for members individually and for our local church collectively.

A second connection we must maintain as Christ's body is the connection between members. If the hands are doing one thing and the feet are going a different direction, the body won't be very effective. Fellowship and unity are very important in Christ's body.

I hope you will join us as we continue our series on church membership.

August 9, 2026 - Part of The Body: The Body of Christ

Ever wake up in the middle of the night with your arm asleep and you have to shake it to get feeling back? That is an annoying feeling that all of us have experienced. This common annoyance reminds us of the trap that some church members fall into when they fall asleep in their walk with Christ. We are members of the body of Christ. As such, we all have a purpose or function in the church. Church membership comes with important responsibilities that cannot be forgotten. I hope you'll join us for this important subject!

July 19, 2026 - Foundations: God Will

Justification and sanctification are beautiful gifts of God for those who are his children, but they are not the greatest promises. The promise that we will be glorified in the resurrection so that we will actually be like Jesus is the greatest promise and greatest gift we have. I hope you will join us as we learn about this great and precious promise.

July 12, 2026 - Foundations: We Will

We have been justified by God's grace, but that does not mean we have actually regained our status as God's image bearers. We will need to follow a lifelong process in which God will transform us into the image of his dear Son. God does this through his Holy Spirit and through our cooperation with the Spirit. I hope you'll join us as we discuss the foundational truth of Sanctification.

We have been justified by God's grace, but that does not mean we ha...

July 5, 2026 - Foundations: God Did

Last week, we remembered that we are helpless in the face of our sinfulness and are in need of someone to save us. This week, we will look at what God did to save us. The topic of justification is one that is hotly debated and has varying views, but the scriptures are actually pretty clear on the matter.
