Broad Street Church of Christ

Broad Street Church of Christ Our Mission:
Connect with God
Connect with Others
Connect Others with God The Broad Street Church of Christ is a staple in historic, downtown LaGrange, GA.

The Christians that worship here are focused on bringing others to Christ and on building a close-knit family. We believe that “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”. We believe in the old and the new, intellectual understanding and intuitive sensitivity, reverent awe and joyful praise. As a church, we will pray together, sing together, hear a lesson from the Bible, share

in communion, and take up a collection. We encourage you to participate as you see fit, and while we would not expect you to give money for the obligations we have made, you are not excluded from any facet of our worship. If you have children, we have a staffed nursery and a “cry room” just outside the worship center. Also, we have great classes for all ages immediately following our morning worship service. You will meet friendly people and welcoming families from all over–with different backgrounds, in a variety of stages of life. Everyone you will meet will have their own problems and interests but members of this church are working toward a future home in Heaven. Our modern facilities offer accommodations for those who are handicapped. We offer audio headsets, handicap-accessible restrooms, building access ramps (interior/exterior), and auditorium wheelchair areas. There are lots of parking spaces, convenient to the building, for the disabled. If you have questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected] or call us at 7068844482. Our building is located at 408 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240. Find us online at http://www.broadstreetcoc.org . Find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/broadstreetcoc, on Twitter at , and our youth group on Instagram at

On staff is our pulpit minister, Evan Kirby and our youth minister, Colby Heath. The mission of the Broad Street Church is to share our passion for the supremacy of God in all things, so that we may:

Glorify the God we love. Share the good news of His righteousness with all men. Promote joy among believers in Christ. (Isaiah 43:6-7; Romans 15:8-9; Psalm 96:3)

We believe that “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.” — John Piper

(Psalm 73:25-26; 16:11)

We are committed to a healthy balance of the old and the new, depth and simplicity, intellectual understanding and intuitive sensitivity. We believe in reverent awe and expressive intimacy. We seek authentic God-centered intensity in our life as a church family. (1 Cor. 9:19; Psalm 100; John 3:36)

Ambition

Our aim is to be biblically saturated and biblically justified in our actions and convictions. Our outreach aim is to be soul winning and culture confronting in everything we do. (Romans 1:16-17; 2 Tim. 4:1-4; Acts 1:8)

June 7, 2026 - Fresh Wind, New Fire - The Presence of The Spirit

We need a warm fire burning in our hearts for God. The presence of the Holy Spirit should be a comfort and reassurance to us. In fact, it is by the presence of the Spirit that we are to come to call God the Father the most intimate term, Abba. I hope you'll join us as we explore the important subject of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

May 31, 2026 - Fresh Wind, New Fire - The Restoration Of The Spirit

We need a fresh wind for the spiritual heat stroke we are experiencing. We need a new fire burning for the frigid temperatures our hearts have been reduced to by the world. The Holy Spirit was poured out and the early church experienced these things! This week I hope you will join us as we look at a second function of the Holy Spirit in the early church, the Spirit's ability to restore us to what we are supposed to be.

May 24, 2026 - Fresh Wind, New Fire - The Power Of The Spirit

Today is Pentecost, the Sunday on which God poured out his Spirit and gave those who come to Jesus to be immersed in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a divisive and difficult topic, and I hope to lay down a clear theology of the Holy Spirit of God! Please join us!

May 17, 2026 - Resurrect Discipleship - Part 3

Jesus is alive! And he is sitting on his throne, expecting his disciples to make disciples of all nations. So what does that look like in today's world? How can we do Jesus-style discipleship in the 21st century with all of our modern distractions and comforts? I hope you will join us as we explore this essential topic further.

May 10, 2026 - Resurrect Discipleship - Moms' Edition

Jesus is alive! And he is sitting on his throne, expecting his disciples to make disciples of all nations. One of the brilliant things God planned from the beginning is the family. We should first be introduced to discipleship to Christ within our families. Sure, someone later in our years, an elder, preacher, deacon, or teacher, will come alongside us and disciple us further into the stature of Christ, but this first begins in our families. And many times, mom is the first point of contact that children have with Jesus. Let's talk about resurrecting discipleship this week, but talk about it from the very important first steps where moms are so vitally important.

May 3, 2026 - Resurrect Discipleship

Jesus is still alive! And some of his final words before ascending to heaven were to go and make disciples of all nations. These disciples were to be baptized and taught all of Jesus' commandments, which includes... making more disciples! This isn't an optional commandment. It is something our Lord told us to do, and we are not doing it. I hope you'll join us as we talk about resurrecting discipleship.

April 26, 2026 - Resurrect Church

Jesus is still alive! And he is the Lord of the Universe and the Lord of the church! In fact, he shed his blood and died for the church, his set-apart followers who are on a mission to be disciples, make disciples, and make disciple makers for God's glory and the expansion of God's kingdom. We must not act like Jesus is still in the grave, and we don't have anything to do. The church has much to do, and you are not exempt!

April 19, 2026 - Resurrect Worship

Jesus is still alive! We still have every reason to let our love and adoration bubble forth in praise and worship toward him. I hope you'll join us as we unpack Psalm 116, a Psalm of Praise. In this sermon, we will look to understand worship and how we can improve our worship of God. The church started with a loud noise in Acts 2, and we've been trying to quiet it down ever since. We need to resurrect worship!

April 12, 2026 - Resurrect Hope

Jesus is still alive! I hope you'll join us for the next several weeks during the season of Easter to talk about our role in ushering in the new heaven and new earth. This week, we will dig into the need for the church to work to bring hope back to our lives and to society in general. We have a message of hope, and we need to get it to the world!

April 5, 2026 - He Must Be Raised Up

The humble beginnings of King Jesus did not remain humble. Rather, Jesus' humility led to his exaltation in the greatest event in the history of the world. Christ's sacrifice was not some needless, ineffectual, senseless self-sacrifice. It was followed by the grand demonstration of God's power in the resurrection. This event makes Jesus the King above all kings.
