This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends (John 15:13). The novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light and strength and love so sorely needed by every Christian.

Happy Feast of Our Lady of Fatima to all of you. 109 years ago, Our Lady appeared to the Fatima children. She asked for prayers and penances to be done for the salvation of souls. Let us pray our rosaries, meditating on the life of Christ through the eyes of Mary, who knew him the best. It has been a joy being your Pastor for almost one year. Let us all keep working together for the salvation of souls.
