Pastor Brian is back in the series in Proverbs “Choose Wisely”
Proverbs 4:23 tells us to “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” It emphasizes the importance of guarding your heart - your inner thoughts, values, desires, and motivations - because it shapes every aspect of your life. The verse teaches that what is allowed to influence the heart eventually affects a person’s words, decisions, actions, and overall direction. By carefully protecting the mind and spirit from harmful influences and cultivating wisdom, integrity, and faithfulness, a person lays the foundation for a healthy and purposeful life. In essence, the passage presents the heart as the source from which one’s character and conduct flow, making it worthy of constant attention and care.
