Gather, Serve, and Support Missions with LWML
Lutheran Women in Mission-SWD

Registration is still open for the 2026 Lutheran Women in Mission–South Wisconsin District Fall Retreat, September 25–26 at the Holiday Inn in Manitowoc. Under the theme “Enough for Now,” participants will gather around God’s promise: “Be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5b).

Keynote speaker Sharla Fritz will help women consider the contentment found not in changing circumstances but in Christ’s faithful presence and provision. The retreat will also offer worship, Christian fellowship, servant events, and Gifts from the Heart opportunities. Find details and register through the LWML–SWD Fall Retreat page.

Before the retreat, join LWML’s Mission Possible Day on Tuesday, September 15. 1. My soul, now praise your Maker!
Let all within me bless His name
Who makes you full partaker
Of mercies more than you dare claim.
Forget Him not whose meekness
Still bears with all your sin,
Who heals your ev’ry weakness,
Renews your life within;
Whose grace and care are endless
And saved you through the past;
Who leaves no suff’rer friendless
But rights the wronged at last.

2. He offers all His treasure
Of justice, truth, and righteousness,
His love beyond all measure,
His yearning pity o’er distress;
Nor treats us as we merit
But sets His anger by.
The poor and contrite spirit
Finds His compassion nigh;
And high as heav’n above us,
As dawn from close of day,
So far, since He has loved us,
He puts our sins away.

3. For as a tender father
Has pity on his children here,
God in His arms will gather

The project will send two LCMS Pastors to both Sierra Leone and Liberia to teach principles of doctrine and practice to Lutheran pastors in West Africa. LCMS pastors will make two trips per year (four for the biennium). The estimated cost for the team to travel and stay in West Africa is $21,000.

Students selected by their church body attend training for the Pastoral Ministry. In countries where witch doctors, Muslims, animism, prosperity preachers, and a mix of all of these is prevalent, to have the pure Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed and taught is vital. The project also hopes to purchase Kindles or electronic books since paper books do not last long in this climate. A web portal will be established to allow teaching and completion of assignments between sessions.

This grant will cover travel, facility rental for teaching, lodging, meals, and materials.
