La Vernia United Methodist Church Welcome to La Vernia United Methodist Church. Join us as we worship God and serve our neighbors La Vernia, Texas is about 20 miles southeast of San Antonio.

Our 2010 population was 1,249, but we are at the edge of the fast-growing Eagle Ford Oil Shale region with new houses being built and new businesses opening in our corner of Wilson County. We invite you to join us as we worship God, and put love of neighbor into real practical terms through our many missions and ministries. Our Childcare Ministries operates a day school through pre-K, and after sc

hool care up to 5th grade. Our Aging Gracefully seniors meet every Wednesday. The Twice Blest Thrift Ministry offers used clothing and household goods for low suggested donations, and we help operate the La Vernia Food Pantry as members of the local ministerial alliance. Our average worship attendance is about 100 at 8:30am and 60 at 11:00am. There are also four adult Sunday School classes for all ages starting at 9:30am in various locations throughout the church grounds.

Helps Us Sort & Organize Our Thrift Store!

We're looking for volunteers who are willing to lend a hand sorting, organizing, pricing, and preparing donations for our thrift store.

This would be a great opportunity for highschool students or anyone needing to complete community service hours. No special experience needed - just a little time, a willing heart, and desire to help! 🙌
