DAY 1 — Trust in God’s Providence
Heavenly Father, You are the giver of every good gift. You know the needs of our land and of all those who depend upon it. As we begin this novena, we place our trust in Your loving providence. Look with mercy upon our dry fields and pastures and, according to Your will, bless us with the rain we so desperately need.

Our Father
Hail Mary
Glory Be

Lord, send us gentle, soaking rain. Renew the earth and strengthen our trust in You. Amen. 🌧️🙏

An early start to the morning as we journeyed to Lough Derg, Station Island. While there we joined 400 other pilgrims who came to make a day retreat. Our day of prayer was centered around St Carlo’s love for the Eucharist, intercessory rosary and time for personal prayer.

Pilgrims have been coming to the island only accessible by boat since the 5th century. It survives today as a living remnant of the early Irish Church.

Recap: Visited the Cliff of Moher, one of the most visited places on the western coast of the Island. Went on a boat cruise of Lake Corrib.

Today we set out early to visit Knock. Where Our Lady appeared with St Joseph and St John. To their side also was seen was the Lamb on the Altar. It is the only Marian appearance that no words are spoken. Though Our Lady leaves us no words, her presence itself is a message. All of the townsmen of Knock witnessed the appearance which lasted 2 hours.

We then travelled to Ballintubber Abbey. Founded in 1216, it has served as a place in where many have come to gather over the years. It is said that St Patrick after his journey from his time on the hill offered baptism to the druids.
