🚗 It started with a fender bender on the last day of senior year — and ended with one of the most powerful calls to truth telling we've heard all year.

This Sunday, Pastor Alex reminded us that as followers of Jesus, we are called to be truth-tellers — even when the truth is hard, uncomfortable, or costly.

Through the bold story of Moses — an unlikely hero born into oppression, saved from the river, and adopted into an unexpected family — and Peter's declaration that Jesus is the Messiah, we were reminded that before hope can be revealed, the painful truths first have to be told.

When we tell the truth that Jesus taught us to love our neighbors as ourselves — lies about superiority, exclusion, and damnation are destroyed. One truth at a time. 🙏

📚 A Prayer for the New School Year 🙏 Some have already started a new school year. Others will be heading back in the days and weeks ahead. Today, we hold all of them in prayer.

God of wisdom and wonder,
We give thanks for the gift of learning and for all who make our schools places of growth and possibility.

Bless the children, youth, and young adults returning to classrooms. Give them curiosity, courage, compassion, and joy. Help them find friendship, belonging, and the freedom to learn and grow.

Bless teachers, aides, administrators, counselors, bus drivers, custodians, and all who care for and support our students. Give them patience, wisdom, strength, and grace for the year ahead.

Bless parents, caregivers, and families as they navigate new routines, new challenges, and new beginnings.

May our schools be places where every person is treated with dignity, kindness, and respect. May we, as a community, surround our students and educators with love and support.

Guide us, Great Teacher, and walk with us into this new school year. Amen.

Whatever this school year holds, may we remember that we do not walk into it alone. We are praying for you. ❤️

🐑 Have you ever felt like a winter lamb — cast out, overlooked, told you weren't worth the resources you consumed?

This Sunday, Pastor Alex drew from the movie Sheep Detectives and the powerful story of the Canaanite woman in Matthew to remind us that no one's worth should ever be discounted — not the outcasts, not yours, and not even your enemies.

When Jesus finally turns to this woman who had been called a dog, ignored, and dismissed — he doesn't just heal her daughter. He calls her faith great. He restores her humanity.

There are no "our people" and "those people" when it comes to Jesus. All means all.
