Sunday was such a gift. Grateful for the way our church gathered, worshiped, listened, and leaned into a message that hits closer to home than most of us probably expected.

In Luke 12, Jesus says, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” That’s not a warning because money is evil. It’s a warning because our hearts are easily convinced that just a little more will finally be enough.

This week, maybe the invitation is simple: open your hands.

Not because God is trying to take something from you, but because He’s already given you the Kingdom. “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” — Luke 12:32

More will never be enough. Jesus already is.

Sloth isn't always obvious.

Sometimes it looks like staying busy while the people we love get our leftovers. Sometimes it's putting off the conversation, avoiding the next step, or settling into a faith that no longer asks anything of us.

Sloth isn't doing too little. It's loving too little.

So here's a question worth carrying into the week: Who or what has been getting your leftovers?

Gold star behavior ⭐️

This week, we talked about wrath and what happens when anger stops saying, “Something is wrong,” and starts saying, “I’ll make you pay.”

And honestly, some of us are pretty good at keeping score.

But Jesus invites us to something different: name it, hand it over, and go quickly.

“First go and be reconciled with your brother or sister.” — Matthew 5:24

Wrath is anger in the service of myself. It dies as Christ makes me gentle.

So this week, maybe the gold star isn’t for winning the argument. Maybe it’s apologizing first. Choosing gentleness. Giving up the judge’s seat. Forgiving. Making the call. Sending the text.

Because we don’t have to make them pay.
Jesus already paid for us.
