OCTOBER 12

Keep me this day without sin; into your hands I commit my life. Live in me, blessed Lord, by your good Spirit, that my life may be a messenger of helpfulness and blessedness. Supply my daily needs. Teach me to have a gracious and uplifting influence.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 11

Take me to your heart, Heavenly Father. Kiss me, though burdened with toil, travel, and sin. Cover me with the seamless robe of our Savior’s righteousness. May I sit down at your heavenly table, and may Christ, the Door, intervene between me and the fret of the world.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 10

I beseech you O Lord, to bless those whom I love. Minister to them as I would, could I be by their side, and better than I could because your thoughts and ways are so much more tender and helpful than mine could be. Keep them safe beneath your wing.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 9

May I dwell in you, O Christ, and you in me, that you may be magnified in my mortal body, whether by life or death. In the common places of life may others see in me that which will remind them of you, my unseen Lord.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 7

Lord Jesus, you have revealed the Father and have brought us near to God. I thank you that I may look unabashed on the glory of the eternal throne and know that all the attributes of Deity are now on my side. Good and holy are you, Lord, and I stand in you.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 6

Blessed Lord, may I find a balm for my own griefs and a solace for my own disappointment, in sympathy and ministry to those whose hearts are breaking around me. Give quick eye and skillful touch, that I may become like Barnabas, a person of consolation.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 5

Give me grace to see the beauty lying at my feet in the common places of life. Help me know that you are as near and as wonderful today as when people beheld you, Lord, when you lived on the earth.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 4

May I delight myself in you, Almighty God. Put gladness in my heart, more than in the time when corn and w**e increase. Teach me how great your goodness and beauty are.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).

OCTOBER 3

Father, you have loved us; you love us now; you will love us forever. Your love passes knowledge. It is like a warm, sunlit ocean enfolding the tiny islet of my life; I swim in it, but can never reach its limits. I thank you for the depth and length of your love.

Frederick Meyer, Daily Prayers (WORDsearch, 2012).
