Joy is not always loud. Sometimes it is steady. Sometimes it is chosen. Sometimes it rises slowly after a long week.

This Sunday at New Life UMC, we’ll be in Psalm 100 for a message called “Jubilate Deo.” The psalm begins, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.” It invites us into worship, gratitude, gladness, and the kind of joy that does not depend on everything being perfect.

This Sunday at New Life UMC, we’ll be in Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26 for a message called “Take Heart.” In this passage, Jesus calls the overlooked, welcomes the hurting, heals the desperate, and reminds us that mercy is at the center of his work.

This Sunday at New Life UMC, we’ll be in Matthew 28:16-20 for a message called “Take Thy Authority.”

When Jesus gives the Great Commission, he does not send people out with fear, arrogance, or power for power’s sake. He sends ordinary people with purpose, responsibility, compassion, and the reminder that they never go alone.

What does Christian authority really look like?
How do we live faithfully in a world full of noise, division, and fear?
And what does it mean to be sent in the name of Christ?

On Memorial Day, we pause with gratitude and reverence.

Today we remember those who gave their lives in service, and we hold in prayer the families, friends, and communities who still carry that loss. May our remembrance move us toward humility, compassion, and a deeper commitment to peace.

From all of us at New Life UMC, we honor the sacrifice, remember the cost, and pray for all who grieve.
