🪴The Knox County Community Garden’s and Growers Alliance is proud to have served as a consultant on the newest addition to North Knoxville’s fight against food insecurity.
The Fountain City Community Garden Ministry!
On Saturday, August 15, volunteers beat the heat with an early start and built + installed 20 raised beds (4x8 ft each!) at 3200 Garden Drive, transforming an open plot into a working garden ready for planting.
This project is the result of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City and nine other congregations coming together to form the the ministry. Agape Outreach Homes Inc. provided the land under an MOU, while the church coalition brought the labor, materials, and long-term commitment to tend it.
There’s history here too: this land once held a vegetable garden of its own, so this project isn’t just new growth, it’s a restoration.
The harvest won’t stop at one season. Vegetables grown here will go directly into the participating churches’ food pantries, putting fresh produce into the hands of neighbors who need it.

This is exactly the kind of coalition-building work the Alliance exists to support, helping churches and community groups turn land and volunteer power into real, sustained food access. Proud to help North Knoxville congregations keep pushing this fight forward. 💪🥬
