Well, VBS 2026 is a wrap!

What an incredible week. We had so much fun with your kids and hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.

Over the course of the week we talked about faith, forgiveness, salvation, and what it means to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Last night’s message was “Jesus Makes Me New.” We looked at the story of Peter denying Jesus three times… and how, after the resurrection, Jesus forgave him and gave him the important mission of feeding His sheep (His followers).

Tonight’s final message was “The Holy Spirit Helps Me.” We talked about the day of Pentecost—when Jesus’s followers received the Holy Spirit just as He promised. Suddenly they could speak in different languages so that people from all over the world who had come to Jerusalem could hear the Good News of Jesus in their own language.

We pray the kids left this week with a clearer picture of Jesus’s love and grace, and how important a relationship with Him is.
Thank you so much for trusting us with your kids this week. We loved getting to spend time with them. Special thanks to all our volunteers who helped make things run so smoothly this week! We have an awesome group of dedicated members that are always there to support the mission. Keep an eye out for more info on our children’s program this fall—we can’t wait to see them again!

Night 3 is a wrap!

Tonight was a big one. We focused on the most important story of the week — the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and what it means for us. Our bottom line for the night was Jesus is alive!

We talked about sin and how it separates us from God, why Jesus had to die on the cross, and what it means to be saved. The kids asked some big, honest questions, and we covered a lot of ground.

At the end, we gave every child the opportunity to accept Jesus. I made it clear that saying the prayer was completely their choice — and an important one. Many of them chose to pray with me. My hope is that they’ll go home and talk with their parents about the decision they made tonight. If they do and you have questions, we’re here to answer them. Come see Pastor Jack, myself (Jim), Ms. Sherry, or anyone at KIBC. We’d love to have the conversation.

This is what VBS is all about. Grateful for a powerful night.

Kingdom Quest VBS 2026 Nights 1 & 2 are in the books!

We’ve had an awesome start to the week with our kids!

Night 1: We learned that Jesus is the Way.
Jesus told Peter to let down his nets after a long night of catching nothing. Peter could have said it was a waste of time… but he obeyed anyway. The result? So many fish the boat nearly sank!

Night 2: We learned that Jesus is always with us.
The disciples were caught in a storm on the Sea of Galilee when Jesus walked to them on the water and invited Peter to step out of the boat. Peter walked on water until he took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink. Jesus immediately reached out and rescued him.

We’ve played lots of games to reinforce these truths, and the kids (and leaders!) have been having a blast.

A few nights still to go — we’re loving every minute with these kids and hope they’re loving it just as much!

We're gearing up for VBS 2026 at KIBC! Our event will be held from August 3-7 each night from 6pm-8pm. We've had a great last few years and we're hoping to continue that this year so please make sure and spread the word! Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
