Not everyone will open their home to children in foster care—but everyone can do something. Our church focuses on Foster Care support through CarePortal, supporting our local CPS employees, and reaching out to our Family Resource Network and Pregnancy Centers in unique ways to help our community strengthen young families.

Did you know...
West Virginia has the highest number of children in foster care per capita. For every 1,000 babies born in our state, approximately 24.6 are removed due to maltreatment—more than three times the national average of 7 per 1,000.

While not everyone is called to foster, everyone can make a difference—by supporting foster families, mentoring youth, advocating for change, or simply raising awareness.
Together, we can help create brighter, more stable futures for children in foster care. 💙

Throughout May, we will be exploring the women in the lineage of Jesus. This is more than just a historical look, but a way to honor the women in our lives today. This week, we will examine Eve. The following weeks will be about Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Bathsheba. If you want to know more about these wonderful women, join us each Sunday in May at 11:00.

Asking for prayer on this request.
The CPS worker who wrote this request, says it beautifully. Please pray for our CPS workers, and the task set before them. Please pray for our children that they are protected and advocated for through these workers. I can't imagine what they are going through as co-workers walk away or move to new jobs within the system. We need to remember them daily as they walk this walk.

West Virginia has a foster care problem. There are far too many children in foster care and not enough resources to provide for all of them. The local church is uniquely positioned to help. The work seems large and overwhelming, but when we come together, we can all do something.

At KSBC, we have jumped all in and partnered with Chestnut Mountain Village to help foster families here in Preston County. If you want to know more about how you can help, here are two options.

1. Sign up for and attend the summit in May.

2. Come to KSBC this Sunday. We are excited to welcome Greg Clutter to come and speak to us about ways we can help to support foster families. Our service begins at 11 am. We hope to see you this Sunday.

This is Awesome! At KSBC, we love children and welcome them with open arms. If you have children, you are invited to come, and please bring them along. We look forward to welcoming you and your children to worship with us.

There have been updates to the Loud Kid Policy at FBC Union. If you have a loud kid, then this is for you. I know it might ruffle some feathers, but we had to do the right thing.
