Throughout May, we will be exploring the women in the lineage of Jesus. This is more than just a historical look, but a way to honor the women in our lives today. This week, we will examine Eve. The following weeks will be about Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Bathsheba. If you want to know more about these wonderful women, join us each Sunday in May at 11:00.

Asking for prayer on this request.
The CPS worker who wrote this request, says it beautifully. Please pray for our CPS workers, and the task set before them. Please pray for our children that they are protected and advocated for through these workers. I can't imagine what they are going through as co-workers walk away or move to new jobs within the system. We need to remember them daily as they walk this walk.

West Virginia has a foster care problem. There are far too many children in foster care and not enough resources to provide for all of them. The local church is uniquely positioned to help. The work seems large and overwhelming, but when we come together, we can all do something.

At KSBC, we have jumped all in and partnered with Chestnut Mountain Village to help foster families here in Preston County. If you want to know more about how you can help, here are two options.

1. Sign up for and attend the summit in May.

2. Come to KSBC this Sunday. We are excited to welcome Greg Clutter to come and speak to us about ways we can help to support foster families. Our service begins at 11 am. We hope to see you this Sunday.

This is Awesome! At KSBC, we love children and welcome them with open arms. If you have children, you are invited to come, and please bring them along. We look forward to welcoming you and your children to worship with us.

There have been updates to the Loud Kid Policy at FBC Union. If you have a loud kid, then this is for you. I know it might ruffle some feathers, but we had to do the right thing.

The plan is to have service tomorrow. The parking lot has been plowed but may still be slippery is spots. Please dress accordingly. Also, please avoid the side and back of the church as they have not been plowed.

If anything changes I will post it here. Hope to see you tomorrow.

Due to weather conditions, all services are canceled today.

Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones; praise from the upright is beautiful. (Psalm 33:1)

Even though we are not meeting today let us praise Him in our homes.

Our church started this journey four years ago to find our own way of supporting the foster care community in Preston County. We didn't know what it would look like for our church. God slowly showed us that it doesn't have to look like what all the other churches were doing to make an impact. It simply needed to come from a genuine desire to help support foster care.
The Chestnut Mountain Village was an integral part of our success! They came alongside us and showed us we could do something! The most important idea they shared was that this was going to take time, personal connections and a slow walk not racing ahead! Making sure this was something we could sustain. This is a marathon not a sprint!
We started out small, helping show our appreciation to CPS during "National Hospitality Week." Simply letting them know we see them and appreciate the work they do.
We've hosted foster parent training sessions at our church, and other opportunities in the same way.
Last April we began using this amazing tool called CarePortal to support our children and families in our local area with physical and monetary needs; by coming alongside them with material items and a personal connection to let them know we see them, and we want to see them succeed!
CarePortal has made a huge difference in how we connect to families in Preston County. This tool gave us a way to meet a young mother of two that needed beds for her children. We met a young family, who needed a couch and crib to support their growing family. These opportunities allowed us to be the hands and feet of our Lord, Jesus Christ!
We are looking forward to 2026 and what God will be doing here in Preston County! We can't wait to be a part of it!

We are having service this morning. The parking lot was plowed last night but there is a fresh inch or so on top of that. The back of the church has not been plowed. Be safe if you are heading out this morning.

The song on my repeat playlist has been Remember by Bryan and Katie Torwalt. Reminding us to REMEMBER! Remember the God who lives with us in our everyday lives. The small things, the boring things, the things that we think don't matter. However, God is always there. We forget his power. Power to heal, power to empty graves, power to hold back the waves. We forget that the voice that called the skies into place and the one whose words made the mountains--can move them all the same! Let's remember the God we serve and how incredibly powerful, mighty and majestic He is! Worship Him even in our everyday lives. Oh, my soul, you know that if He did it then He can do it all again! Don't forget to Remember! (Picture near our church in wild wonderful WV!)
