Dear fellow Christians in the greater Tri-Cities region,
Exciting plans are underway to hold a two-day Christian worship and prayer event titled “Make Us One” at Bristol Motor Speedway in the spring of 2028. Our hope is to have events throughout each day which are spread around main events that will fill both the stadium seating and the infield, making it the largest Christian event in American history.
I am blessed to be part of a team of Christian servant leaders working closely with BMS leadership to embrace what we all believe is God’s vision to see the Body of Christ unified and Jesus Christ wonderfully glorified. My particular assignment is to recruit prayer support from throughout our region and, additionally, form a team of prayer warriors who will commit to pray every day for the event and all the people who will be working together to see it happen.
Imagine with me the impact of 160,000 – 200,000 Christians worshiping the Lord with one voice. Imagine the impact of that tremendous group praying with one mind and accord for our region, our nation, and the lost – and for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done on the earth as it is in heaven!
I urge you all to add “Make Us One” to your personal prayer list and keep it there until it has happened. I urge you to add “Make Us One” to your church prayer list and your small group and Sunday School prayer lists.
And if you are willing to commit with me to become a prayer warrior that prays for “Make Us One” every day – blessings, favor, insight and wisdom, direction, and protection from the evil one – then I ask you to reply to this post or email and become part of an email group I am forming that will stay in touch with other, encourage each other, and be updated on developments and specific “Make Us One” prayer concerns as they arise.
Be inspired by the scriptures below. God bless you all – Doug Tweed
John 17:20 "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.
Ephesians 4:1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit- just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call- 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
