We had a great time at our Back to Youth Group Party last night. Fr. Wood blessed the food with us and gave us a blessing. Thank you to the Knights of Columbus who made us yummy hamburgers and hot dogs. We played games inside and out. After our water games we had ice cream and ended the night with a closing prayer.

We have reserved one of the theaters for the 7:00 P.M. showing on Wednesday, August 26th.
We would like to invite our young people in religious education to attend this movie with free admission. As we will have at least 90 seats available, this will leave room for many more people. Therefore, we would like to invite additional Sts. Peter and Paul parishioners to attend this movie, also at free admission.
This is an opportunity to see the story of a local Catholic who did great things on behalf of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are honored and blessed to announce that American Martyr: The Stanley Rother Story will be showing at the closest theatre to his hometown of Okarche! Save the dates of Tuesday, August 25th, Wednesday, August 26th, and Thursday, August 27th. Showtimes will be announced later.
August 25th & 26th will be in English, and August 27th will be dubbed in Spanish.

“American Martyr: The Stanley Rother Story,” a feature-length documentary narrated by acclaimed actor Martin Sheen, tells the true story of an American priest who was murdered for refusing to abandon his people. Born on an Oklahoma farm, Father Stanley Rother left to serve the Indigenous Tz’utujil people of Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala, during the country’s brutal civil war. Immersing himself in the life of the community, he learned their language, shared their suffering, helped translate the New Testament into Tz’utujil and became a beloved spiritual father to the people he served. As violence and persecution closed in, Father Stan became convinced that “the shepherd cannot run,” and he returned to Guatemala from the U.S. knowing it could cost him his life. Only months later, masked gunmen broke into his rectory and murdered him. “American Martyr” reveals the witness of Blessed Stanley, whose courage, sacrificial love and unwavering faith continue to inspire audiences around the world.
