Today we are celebrating the 15th Anniversary of our beloved Father Hock’s ordination to the priesthood! Thank you for your guidance and heart for everyone at St. Teresa’s! We are so blessed to have you as our spiritual father!

Look familiar? The St. Teresa’s chapel has been standing for over seven decades, and in that time, it has had a few different looks.

As we look forward to the completion of St. T’s future home on University Drive, we reminisce on where we’ve been.

No matter where we’ve been, Jesus invites us to come home to Him. At St. T’s, students are growing in friendship with Christ and with each other, finding the spiritual home that God offers each one of us. Walking alongside others toward Christ ignites a deeper love and desire for Him.

Future students will find that same faith-filled community and relationship with God at the new church. Every student deserves a place to encounter Christ and community – Let’s build it for them.

A home - that’s what St. T’s is. By building a new church, the St. Teresa of Calcutta Newman Center will become a home to even more students. Over the years, students have discovered Christ, grown in their spiritual life, and found community. The next generation of faith starts with small encounters like those happening daily at St. T’s!

Mother Teresa, our patroness, famously said, “Find your own Calcutta.” Our students here at St. T’s desire and strive to do that very thing. With opportunities to serve our parish, UNK, the community, and each other, students are growing in Christ-like spirit and following Mother Teresa’s encouragement. These opportunities will be even greater at our new space!

Just like Mother Teresa, the younger generations have a deep desire to serve, to love, and to change the world through authenticity and service. That’s who we are building this new church for – those with a fire for Christ and a desire to spread His love to others, just like our patroness.

“Weekend after weekend, we see students come to the door of the chapel on a Sunday Mass, turn around, and walk out because the chapel’s full. It’s packed. There’s nowhere to stand.” - Father Hock

A St. T's Sunday Mass regularly sees over 100 attendees. With an overflowing chapel, the need for a new church is greater now than ever. "Nowhere to stand" will never be an issue again.

Founded in 1952 and in its current location for seven decades, the Newman Center has been well-served by its aged premises. However, the number of students served by St. Teresa's is higher now than ever. Growing out of its space and with facilities crumbling, it is time to build the students a new church.
